Athene for the kids (Scam)?

There has been allot of talk lately about how Athene is pocketing the money he gets during his charity donations.. Do you think this is true? I personally think Athene would be above all that, but it does leave me questioning some things.

Whenever I think of someone that's like "donate me money so I can donate it to this cause", yes, I think there's a huge change of it being a scam. If you want to donate, just donate directly.

Without an actual discussion, a.k.a. proof, this is just going to be a "I hate/love Athene" thread, so there's no real point in it.
