It seems very vague to me.
What does this mean? By areas do they mean planets? Areas of planets? WZ's?Updated several areas in order to increase general server stability.

it means extended maint by at least 3 hours

Most likely it means they updated some in-game zones or code to reduce lag/bugs and maybe even updated server software.

They made a fix that increased server stability creating fewer crashes.
