Look for a corp who will rent-to-buy you one.
I can make twice if not 2 times that mining in nullsec in a week. There is a way to pay for your accounts through non incursioning. Missioning still generates enough isk p/m to afford you a plex. 500 mil can be gathered in a week (whereas it takes a day in incursions)
Ships and shit are only going up. With the hopefull change to moon goo as well. I bought an Obeilisk in dec for 740, now they are past a billion. Orca's are retarded expensive now as well. But i hope they keep going up, more isk for us nullsec miners to make.Surely the prices of ships will drop, the Value of the ISK will increase as 'counterfeit' ISK is removed from the system. The ISK in my wallet, all obtained legally was being devalued by the cheap ISK that was being obtained illegally from botting or RMT. The more illegal assets and ISK removed from the game, the more valuable my ISK has become.
Then they need to move to nullsec, much safer. Less problems, more income. Highsec is only where you stay while your training your skills to survive in null.i'm not happy with the proposed changes to war declarations. small corps of care bear miners will be forced to find alliances. one of the things that has always been good about eve's sandbox nature was that some people could avoid p v p if they wanted to. some of the proposed changes will allow larger corps grief smaller ones who just want to mind their own business.
you shut your filthy whore mouth!

EDIT: I better clarify for those people who get invites from others who are offering the PLEX they get for getting a buddy involved.
PLEX is an actual in-game object, a commodity, that can be applied at any time like a game card. It can be traded between players for services or ISK. It is currently worth about 500million ISK. That is about the price of 3-4 fully fitted battlecruisers.
As long as you understand that and are still okay with it, then I'm a sell it/keep it, but if someone here has offered you the PLEX then you really should consider taking them up on their offer, as that kind of money is really useful when you start out. Even 100 million is pretty imba, as you can buy a full set of +4 implants, which will make skill learning so much faster.
500 million isk is about 80 hours of solo mining in high security.
So, even if you don't want the 30 days playtime, or you want to be generous in return for the extended trial time, atleast get SOME of the money that the inviter will get from the PLEX, it will help you immensly.

oh my god, what have I just said.
Oh, and also, there's no rule in EVE about scamming people. CCP does not resolve any scams. So what you really want to find early on in the game is people who are trustworthy and hopefully a corp that will foster you to success and not scam you to bits.
Sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet, and telling someone to shut their "filthy whore mouth", even jokingly, isn't acceptable on these forums. Infracted. -Edge

Small mining corps might as well join a very large alliance and mine for them in rich deep space ore belts.
Btw, good thread. Gets new people into the game.
I've been looking to start up again. I have a buddy thats been trying to get me to play, but i've missed out on so much training these past few years. Every time i think about playing, I just shutter at the lost time and lose interest.

Someone said to me the other day "with a character your age, I would have expected you to be flying a carrier". But unfortunately I've been playing WoW for 6 years and didn't keep my subscription to EVE all the time, so I don't have 150+million skill points. And yes, when returning to the game it does somewhat bother you, but you gotta remember that it still only takes <2 days to fly a simple industrial ship, < 1 month to pilot a mid range (Retriever) mining barge, <2 months to pilot the biggest mining barge (Hulk) available, thus putting you on an equal footing with every other mining pilot out there.
The only advantage someone who is playing longer has, is that they can put away their Hulk and get in their Battleship to do an incursion. Or be a freight hauler, or ship builder or ... or ... or ... at the same time.
If you are completely new to the game you can specialise in something that interests you and get to 'end game' for that in about 3 months. Where you go from there is up to you, you can start on a new profession or you can augment that profession, go from being a miner to a mining foreman (Orca pilot) in another month of training to a Capital (Rorqual) ship mining pilot with your corp.
When I returned to the game I decided to go the mining path (I was an Interceptor pilot, a battlecruiser pilot and a battleship (all missile boats) before I put my game on hold), and due having a few of the skills already, I'm at the retriever stage currently and training for a Hulk. I'll be able to pilot my hulk in about 20 days, so I'm currently earning ISK while watching TV so I'll be able to get a fully fitted ship when I get the skills. I want to quickly after that start working on an Orca. Once I have that I'm going to look for a mining corp (if I don't find one already) and work on my Rorqual skills. At the current rate (if I don't remap my attributes) I can fly a Rorqual in 80 days.
On the side, when bored of mining, or just looking for some quick cash (mining isn't the fastest, but you can do other things in and out of game at the same time) I will dust off either my Drake or Raven for some incursions.
For anyone who's thinking of returning, or starting out I recommend http://isktheguide.com/ as your starting point. Beware, it's 400 pages long, so have a good look at the contents section to see what area interests you the most and start there.
Are you guys running a corp together?
Well, no one answered my few questions on the first page so I guess this thread doesn't offer that much to me... *sadface*
Although I'm afraid I'll be too preoccupied with D3 soon enough to fire up Eve again. But like I said, I love the concept but think it could've been executed a bit better. I am interested in what CCP can do with the World of Darkness MMO if they ever get to it though.
Way to guilt a guy...
I havn't gotten into Incursions myself, yet, being a returned gamer after WoW. I'm more interested in doing industry/mining. The others woudl be better to answer that or you could go to http://incursionguide.wordpress.com/
I would reccomend giving http://isktheguide.com/ a read too, but it's really big, so focus on the areas that interest you. There's a good section there about exploration.

Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.
The Vindicator, well he deserved it. Most likely an incursion farmer scrub. 33b+ on a battleship is a crime.
The second... I can't understand what that person was thinking.... truth be told though, CCP shouldn't have allowed plex to get out of stations. When they changed that, it was obvious that they were looking for a gimmick to eliminate plex from the system.
Good to see that Veldspar and Trita prices are going up (I am a miner so I am happy)
Hulkageddon will start up as gunmining gets nerfed, so the market will have a strained supply once reserves run out.
