I don't really care much about it to be honest, but it annoys me that. High end raiders will say "omg blizz remove older content mounts and cool things, only we should get that"
Then they boost people in old AND current content, to get said mounts, achievements etc...

Ofc that was a big exaggeration, but still.

I mean, I would probably buy myself gear and some raid achievements and mounts. If I had bothered getting the gold, because they sure as hell charge you for it :P

On topic, I don't really support this, as you get some nubs in a pug or that apply to your guild and link their achievement (which they got just from this) and when it comes to the fight they mess up because they are clueless scrubs who got boosted.
Use the same excuse as Private server hosts? You pay for supporting the guild, holding events.. vent costs etc etc ... The item is just something we give you extra...

There's no law against it as lots of people already said.

I think its a good way to make some money to the guild, if there's people interested in it in your realm, and you have a group that can provide it, why not?

Because you don't got the money for it? I mean why does it bother you? Don't you know your class well enough to beat someone that has been carried to tier 2 weapon? I mean for mele it's 10% more dmg, and if you can't surpass 10% more damage with skills you really should look for guides. No to be an ass, but love those tier 2 carried people. They sux so hard it's so fun!

doubt you needed 40 "great" players for naxx, atleast 'great' players of now because then everyone woulda killed stuff. most raids have lots of slackers and vanilla im halfsure would bring people just like druids for a whole point of the innervate
ps: Just because their casual doesnt mean their bad

No because they should be banned for breaking the ToS

It's fine, it's not exploiting. Now if they bought their boosts with real money, that would be against ToS.

In-game stuff with in-game money, that's all there is to it. No more or less bannable than putting stuff in the AH.

That's just not true. Sell runs were present for both AQ40 and Naxx in Vanilla. And you never needed 40 great players for Naxx. You barely saw more than 10 people flasking on even the hardest of fights such as four horsemen and you still had to carry a ton of terrible players. Go back and watch some videos, heck even of M'uru and Kil Jaeden kills and you'll see terrible game plays. I remember a video of a mage in a top 20 world guild on M'uru, who pulled agro, ice blocked, sat in the Ice block till the end, long after the tank had taunted, invising out of the ice block even tho he was no where near high on threat (he just did 0 DPS for 10 seconds), where after he stood in "fire" and died. Trust me, the game is harder than it's ever been, we as players have just gotten better as well.

It's no experience imo. Getting carried through something is weak. I only find it morally bad that people brag with titels/items they got by being carried.

I don't see anything wrong with a guild reaping its rewards from finishing content and wanting money for the next expansion.

  14. #34
    It's fine. It's encouraged almost.

If we were any good, we'd do it ourselves.

In terms of gold per hour, it blows the shit out of the AH.

Because I have to play vs those R1 glads at 2100-2200MMR that do the actual boosting, it's not fun trying to play with new teammates, only to que into someone that does nothing but spend their time playing arena because people are willing to pay them for it. It undermines the whole mmr system. It's gotten to the point where people announce it in trade, and then get people on skype to work out the details of accounting sharing and money transfer, so reporting them does nothing.

Who gives a shit about Average_Joe_27 getting a mount from some pve boss that has already been killed by the majority of the pve elite on the server?

Damn, I should probably stop using the auction house since I'm breaking wows policy too by selling items there :O

I wonder who "they" are, as we have done a lot of boosts on our realm and none of them has been for real money.

I really don't understand what is the point of paying gold for achievements and mounts, there is zero satisfaction and sense of accomplishment that goes with it.

But oh well, it's not really different than IRL.. people with money can do stuff without earning it.

It's just crazy when you do the math in your head of how much real money they would have spent if they had to buy the gold from gold sellers to get that mount.. then you really hope they never bought gold in their life because it really feels pathetic to pay 150$ of real money for a mount and achievement in a game.

  18. #38
Why should i care what people what to spend in game gold on? Myself personally I rather raid the content with my guild and try and kill it instead of getting carried by the best players, and if my guild fails I can always go back and clear the content the next expansion.

I dont really like it since Im of the idea of the things you have are things you earned... but obviously that logic rarely ever works (even IRL) as you can get carried to basically anything so Im not nieve into thinking its wrong or anything, I just wish it didnt happen.

With that said Ive sold runs before so for people who can easily clear content and have/dont care about the vanity its a fast way to make gold

    We do it.

We're 95% best in slot and raid 3 hours a week, so why not? It's building a substantial warchest for MoP launch where we'll spend hundreds of thousands of gold buying overpriced BoEs the first three weeks.
