It's quite common I believe to add extra unobtainable coloured sets, to use as NPC armour.

Hmm... yep. This was especially used in ICC where every NPC but you seemed to start in the tier gear.

Blades on head. Blades on shoulders. Christ, almost every armor set since Vanilla looks like that.. Lovely details though.

pretty sure the number one most used weapon for warriors since Vanilla has been something with a blade on it... Or would you like Maces and staves coming out of your shoulders instead

It's actually NPC, LFR, Normal, Heroic.

Not necessarily in that order.

the shoulders look good for general purpose transmog, they will fit well with a lot of armours

There's always a few bonus recolors of every armor set.

There's a baby-blue version of the Molten Giant Battleplate (tier 12) and a neon green/baby blue version of the Ruthless Gladiator T2 set from Season 10.

They're usually used for NPCs.
