Focus Magic

So uh, I know this is probably hidden somewhere among the threads but does anyone know what the status of Focus Magic is in MOP? Is it Arcane only still or did they expand it to all three specs? Or did they perhaps just remove it all together. I've tried perusing the forums but I've not had a lot of luck thus far.

I believe Arcane Brilliance and Dark Intent were both changed (for MoP) to offer 10% spellpower, yes?

This is good because we usually lack a warlock in our 10-man raids. That extra 4% over the current Int buff really helps.

Arcane Brilliance per what stands on the beta now gives +5% crit. Guaranteed critical strike chance for all! There's just no more spell crit from Focus Magic on top of the raid buff, so yeah, it's presumably gone.

DPS boost buffs exist to encourage people to mix up the class balance in their groups, else people would just bring only mages for DPS because we are the best class

Speaking of Arcane Brilliance, after copying my toon, I logged onto Beta and I had Arcane Brilliance in my spellbook but not Dalaran Brilliance, which I have on live. Casting Arcane Brilliance puts up Arcane Brilliance, not Dalaran Brilliance. I went to Dalaran hoping the vendor and book are still there, which they are. It cost 380g I think. I bought the book, used it, and then Dalaran Brilliance popped up in my spellbook. Arcane Brilliance was not removed; both are there. I tested it and Dalaran Brilliance gives the same 10% spellpower and 5% crit, so it seems to work ok.

Just a note that you may need to repurchase the Dalaran Brilliance book in case it disappears.

I believe this is merely a Beta limitation and that the polymorphs and dalaran brilliance you have on live will not be affected when 5.0.1. (or whatever they call it) hits live.

On Topic - While I loved using Focus Magic, I am actually glad it's going away so my guildies can stop arguing about who needs it the most (along with Dark Intent and TotT)

there are only 8 buffs in MoP.

5% Stats, 10% Stamina, 10% AP, 10% SP, 5% crit, 5 mastery, 10% melee/ranged haste, 5% spell haste.

every class brings at least 1, while some have a choice of what they can do(warriors get either stam OR AP but not both, and some get multiple( DPS monks get stats AND mastery).

all the buffs make sense for who brings it( physical DPS bring phys buffs, caster DPS brings caster buffs, etc.).
