Good rule of thumb to follow when at a bar or party: Unless you trust the person bringing your drinks NEVER drink anything you didn't see poured.

In mexico you dont wanna drink anything with a broken seal. If i didnt break the seal, im not drinking it. Bottled water especially

As for getting drugged. you might have been given a strong local drink, your only 17 when you have drunk properly for years and tried many many different types of booze at different strengths etc then you can claim to havea knowledge. beer and standard spirits dont prepare you for specialist drinks. hell iv seen rugby players who put away 14 pints easy be put flat on there arse after 5 pints of proper farm made cornish scrumpy (real cider)

iv had weird 'special jungle herb infused' bitters from central america which played tricks on me. iv had some weid 95% grain shit that i couldnt even manage half a shot of without downing a huge chaser after.

the thing is there are so many drugs available esp in mexico with getting prescription drugs that it could have had anything added to it. alot of legal script drugs may have good side effects, a massive vasodialation effect could have made it easier to damage your capilaries in your nose so who knows

I got back from Cancun, Mexico, last night, and during my stay, I think me and my friend got drugged. Were both guys, and 17 years old and we are not "new" to drinking so don't assume that we don't know what were doing.

I had a nice buzz on, and my friend and I met someone from the same province as us (were Canadian), so we decided to order a shot of Jack Daniels. What we got was a very dark liquid that did not look anything like it, but we took it anyways. It did NOT taste anything like Jack's or even whiskey for that matter, and immediately after, my friend and this 40 year old we took it with, both threw it up. (This was my friend's second time vomiting from drinking in his 3 years of drinking so this is big for him.)I kept the shot down, and afterwards, I had lost my identity. I started acting like a fool, put on a Polish accent and pretended that I was from Poland. (I could have just been acting like an idiot.) When we got back to the room, I began vomiting, and had an intense nose bleed that lasted 45 minutes. This nosebleed wasn't just a drip drip. It was a straight line of blood for a good 20 minutes before it started slowing down. I lost so much blood that I started to get light headed, which caused me to have a panic attack and start hyperventilating. I went to sleep after this.

I know this just sounds like a drunk teenage time in Mexico, but it is like something I've never experienced before. I would like to know if anyone has any knowledge on what this black liquid could be. It did not taste like any alcohol I've ever had.

Ok, I've got to see how many ridiculous things I can find in this.

1. You went to Cancun. That was just a dumb thing to do from the start.
2. You trusted the locals. They probably spotted you when you came in and decided to give you something to mess you up, just because it'd be funny to watch.
3. You're Canadian. Ron Swanson hates Canada, and he's always right, so that's obviously a problem.
4. You knew you were not given what you ordered, yet you drank it. What the hell?
5. You didn't know what you DID get, yet you drank it. That's worse than the previous one. Seriously, WHAT THE HELL?
6. You're 17 and have been drinking for 3 years. That means you've been drinking since you were 14. Is drinking the only hobby for teens these days?
7. You saw your friend immediately go to crap from this stuff, yet you stayed there. I'm really lost as to what goes through your head on a regular basis.
8. You had an uncontrollable nosebleed, and you never sought medical attention.
9. You came to the Internet to share this story. That was just a silly move.

So, to sum this all up, you came to the Internet to tell us all that you have no self control or common sense, at least that what it appears to be.

As for being drugged, there's no way to know. If you had followed common logic with #8, the hospital could have figured out what you let some stranger put into your body. I'm honestly baffled at how little you thought through your actions, and hope you use this as a learning experience: DON'T TAKE STRANGE DRINKS FROM STRANGE PEOPLE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.

@ OP, you're 17 so you really don't have experience drinking yet. Not saying you weren't drugged mind you. Just take heed, when in Mexico, don't drink unless you're breaking the seal yourself. And especially don't go drinking weird looking stuff you clearly didn't order, duh.

GHB will not cause double barrel streaming nosebleeds. Anti coagulants, warfarin and certain allergy drugs can, all of which are common cutting agents in cocaine.
