Where is this pink dragon?

There is this pink dragon that was in the cataclysm trailer click here to see it in the trailer but i cannot find it anywhere in the game?

Well the screenshot is from Blackrock Caverns, im guessing that dragon was a placeholder for the nether drake which is being syphoned off

That's Blackrock Caverns.

That dragon was replaced with a standard Nether Drake. I guess they thought people wouldn't recognize it as such so they changed it.

humm...wasn't the trailer released before the ruby sanctrum was released? maybe that was what twilight dragons would have looked like? especially considering twilight dragons are very etheral and like going into shadow mode alot...

but yeh it's in shackles and in the same place as the netherdragon they prob just wanted to change it so players knew it was a netherdragon..

Digging through the model viewer files, the ghost dragon is actually a prop, not a fully fledged out, complete-with-all-dragon-animations NPC model. It has two basic animations. The first one, it sits there flapping, while in the second one it rears its head back, growls, and then continues on flapping its wings.

Regardless, I think it was cooler than the dead netherdrake we have now... but perhaps blizzard wanted to tie the mysticism of the dragons together, saying "hey, we haven't forgotten netherdrakes!"

Nah, you don't make a brand new model to use as a placeholder for an old one.

It was created for a purpose and planned to be there but the devs for some reason decided not to use it. I would think it's because it looks too much like a normal drake rather than a nether drake.

Not likely. It's not actually a working model I'm afraid, it's a doodad/prop. It's more similar to a crate or a lamp post than a mob.


Of course that's not to say it wouldn't be a really cool model to use as a mob or mount. I can't help but be reminded of the original Nether Drake model from TBC Alpha/Beta, which looked so much cooler than what we have now.

It first appeared of muffin s Uldum/twillight highlands and dungeons preview.. before cata was released. I believe he did that on beta long time ago, but yet we have to find it. Maybe they removed it after all. It looks cool tho :3 ( Ohh and obviously the place it was was on grim batol instance)

I'm fairly certain that the room the dragon is in is that of Corla's, in Blackrock caverns.
