Quickly searched through the forums and I didn't find any thread about Super Monday Night Combat.
Announcement trailer:
Official website here: http://www.uberent.com/
The world of Monday Night Combat is a futuristic world, in which clones seem to be more common than actual persons.
Some of these clones take part in a huge international sport, by the name of Monday Night Combat, which is broadcast... on Monday Nights.
The beloved announcer Mickey Cantor whom some of you may remember from the original MNC, has escaped his prison cell in Mexico, and as such, is no longer the announcer on the show. However, GG Stack and Chip Valvano have taken the roles of the announcers of this wacky sport.
The Gameplay
The game is a Third Person Shooter. You control your selected pro, who has 3 abilities which you can use for damage, mobility, etc.
While being a Third Person Shooter, the game is also heavily inspired by MOBA games like Dota and League of Legends. This means symetric maps, with turrets and 2 minion lanes, as well as a jungle where neutral monsters are found. Your goal is simple: Escort your team's bots to the opposing team's turrets, destroy the turrets, and push further into the enemy base. Once at their base, your team's bots will bring down the moneyball, a giant floating ball of money. The opposing team has to bring down your money ball and destroy it, you have to destroy their. So as you can see, this is pretty standard MOBA stuff. This also means your character has a lot of health, and there is no 1-shot 1-kill abilities in the game, except a ring-out - meaning to get thrown off the arena.
In the middle of the jungle, you'll find the annihilator. Once every 5 minutes, the annihilator becomes available, and the 2 teams must fight to use the annihilator to their advantage. Getting the annihilator does a large amount of damage to the opposing team, as well as killing all their minions currently on the battlefield, giving your team an advantage to push through the turrets on the bot lanes.
The Pros:
These are equivalent to the champions of League of Legends.
Along with the 6 original pros from the original Monday Night Combat, you'll find many new pros, and more will be added once in a while.
Pros are split up into categories based on their playstyle:
Strikers: These are your well-rounded pros. They deliver good burst damage, and a medium speed, medium health, and a good deal of mobility. They are ideal for ganking and delivering short burst damage before retreating.
Enforcers: The Enforcers are heavy, slow and have a high health pool. They deliver massive damage at medium-close range, and are ideal for pushing botlanes. They don't have a lot of mobility, but their high health makes them hard to take down.
Defenders: Defenders are great at area-denial and controlling bot lanes. Currently, all 3 available defenders have a deployable turret with different types of uses. All 3 defenders are able to heal other players, as well as minions. They have medium health, medium speed, and don't have much mobility, but their turrets generally provide them with a great self-defense.
Commandos: Anyone who has played MNC will surely remember the assassin. Commandos are hit-and-run playstyle characters with high mobility, low health, and lethal close range damage. Their primary function is to pick off low health players, and generally harass.
Sharpshooters: Sharpshooters can deal large amounts of damage from any range. They are sniper type-characters. Aim for the head, deal tons of damage. As mentioned earlier, nothing can 1-shot kill you, meaning it often takes 4-10 headshots to kill an enemy player.
The game is currently in beta, but you can sign up just by visiting the Super MNC website, if the game seems interesting to you. EDIT: Actually, according to steam, the game is released TODAY, so never mind the Beta thing.
Currently there are 15 different pros (heroes), including the 6 from the original Monday Night Combat.
If there are other Super MNC players out here on MMOChampion, this could be the place to discuss the game!
I very much enjoy playing Megabeth, so if there's any Super MNC players, what's your favourite pro?
