    Patch 1.8 Hotfixes

    Time for a new Thread for Update 1.8 which dropped yesterday/today for everyone

    Us Europeans already got this minor Hotfix #0.5 with our update, will be hitting the North American shards later..

    RIFT 1.8 Hotfix 0.5 - 19/4/12

    GENERAL

    * Fixed the incorrect spamming of re-server firsts.
    * Tents and Bedrolls are now available for use!
    * Fishing-related pets now summon instantly.
    * Fixed an edge case with formed LFG groups and public grouping that could cause pre-queued groups to break up prematurely.

    LEADERBOARDS

    * The Leaderboard for Expert Darkening Deeps has been corrected and can now be enabled.
    * Fixed a problem with the Library: Mass Martyr Duration leaderboard.

    ITEMS


    * Slinkers of the Dawn: Now with correct pricing.
    * Ember Isle Raid Rift Essences now have a minimum level requirement to equip.
    No source yet, this was taken directly from the launcher

    Here comes the first proper hotfix, #1

    RIFT 1.8 Hotfix #1 - 11:15am PDT 4/20/12 [NA] - 1:00am GMT/2:00am BST 21/4/12 [EU]

    GENERAL

    * Guild Finder: Fixed a bug that could cause messages sent to recruiters to only reach one member of a guild.
    * The Chronicle Daily Quests now give a nice chunk of experience!
    * Achievement title reward tooltips once again show the actual title text.
    * Quests like 'They Walk Telara' once again work properly.
    * Show Offline and Show Mobile filters on the Guild Roster now persist through closing the guild window/logouts.
    * Fixed oddly-large zone names appearing on the world map when zooming out in some cases.
    * Corrected a visual glitch with the names of offline party members.


    FISHING AND SURVIVAL

    * You can now sell all Survival recipe ingredients back to the merchants.
    * When multiple tents or bedrolls are in the same area, only the best rested buff is applied.
    * Corrected the fish requirements for low-level fish exchange quests.
    * Made it a little easier to fish Fish out of schools.

    INFERNAL DAWN

    * Muglak: Added a blocker so the fight must take place within the encounter space.
    * Players will now appropriately receive achievements for defeating the Ember Conclave.


    SOULS

    BARD


    * Cadence: Fixed the tooltip showing the min and max damage values as the same number.

    BEASTMASTER


    * Fierce Strike: Fixed rank 6 being able to chain the damage effect repeatedly.

    CABALIST


    * Lurking Decay: No longer stops generating Decays when you resurrect. If this has already happened to you, you may need to swap roles to make it work again.

    CHAMPION


    * Bull Rush: Fixed the tooltip error showing a 0-second root.

    NIGHTBLADE

    * Fiery Spike: Fixed the tooltip showing the min and max damage values as the same number.
    * Smother: Fixed a tooltip bug where the damage of rank 5 is shown as zero.

    PALADIN

    * Touch of Life: Increased the effectiveness in PvP.

    RANGER

    * Rain of Arrows: Fixed the tooltip showing the min and max damage values as the same number.
    * Diffuse: Now only works on attacks that can be reflected or redirected. Diffuse effect is also removed if your pet dies; damage can no longer be redirected onto a dead pet.

    VOID KNIGHT

    * Fusion of Flesh: Increased effectiveness in PvP.
    * Residual Absorption: Increased duration to 1.5/3 seconds from 0.5/1 second.

    WARLORD

    * No Permission to Die: Increased effectiveness in PvP.

    Hotfix #2 has some interesting fixes, go go Unlikely Alliance, best zone event evah !

    RIFT 1.8 Hotfix #2 - 8:00am PDT 4/25/12 [NA] - 1:00am GMT/2:00am BST 26/4/12 [EU]

    GENERAL

    * Master mode dungeons now reset on Sunday at 4:00am server time, instead of Saturday at 4:00am server time, for their second weekly reset. Wednesday reset day remains the same.
    * The new Keepers crafting daily quests now turn in at Keeper Ambassador NPCs located at the Travel Stones outside of Meridian and Sanctum, so that characters below level 40 can complete these quests.
    * Raid Assistants can once again directly invite players into their groups.
    * Adjusted the audio of Razorbeast pets so they make noise less frequently.
    * PvP Quests may now flag you for PvP while being progressed. Quests that do so will warn you in the quest accept and quest log windows.
    * King's Breach: Hunter Suleng should no longer be killstolen by the friendly NPCs at the start and leave you unable to complete the zone quest.
    * 'Speed Clears' now only begin when players physically leave the zone entrance area. They will no longer start incorrectly by a player disconnect or teleport.
    * Fixed a combat case where beneficial abilities could apply to friendly faction characters as if you were in PvP against each other.
    * Trial players can no longer attempt to withdraw more coin than they can carry from guild banks.


    WORLD EVENT

    * Rifts now open more reliably for the Infernal Awakening and Unlikely Alliances zone events.
    * Gold! Glorious Gold! now contributes properly to the weekly mount token quests.
    * Brass Brutes now spawn more regularly.
    * Ascended Fury objective text should be more clear.
    * Shimmersand: Dunes of Akala Earth Rifts now properly drop Invasion Orders while on the Investigation quest.


    FISHING AND SURVIVAL

    * Rate of Fishing skillups has been slightly lowered at low levels, and slightly increased at higher levels.
    * The zone-specific Fishing Achievements (such as Shimmersand Fisherman) have been updated to include all possible fish per zone, including fish that appear in more than one. Completion or progress toward these achievements will not be lost, but previously catching the newly-added fish will not count toward the updated achievement.
    * Improved description on Fishing Lures. Made the Greedy Lure more greedy.
    * Moved some unfishable schools.
    * Feasts now last for 3 minutes before disappearing.
    * Survival food buffs can no longer be purged.

    INFERNAL DAWN

    * Ember Conclave: Several abilities will no longer target player pets.
    * Ember Conclave: Reduced health of Packmaster Nahoth's Ember Novas.
    * Ituziel: Added 5 seconds before Ituziel's Enrage timer goes off.
    * Addressed issue causing the Infernal Dawn minibosses to not respawn on instance resets.


    SOULS

    BARD


    * Coda of Restoration: Fixed a tooltip bug where it showed Coda healing '0' raid members.

    RANGER


    * Blood Raptor: Rend can now be stacked up to 3 times per Blood Raptor attacking the target.

    SABOTEUR

    * Time Bomb: Fixed a bug so that only 1 Time Bomb per player can be attached to a target.
    * Improved Entangling Trap: Now only requires 15 points spent in Saboteur to acquire instead of 20.


    UI/SETTINGS


    * Fixed an issue where some Guild Bank tabs would not show their items the first time the tab was selected after accessing the Bank.
    * Seals, Fish, Hammerknell and Infernal Dawn-dropped crafting materials, and Infernal Dawn crafted items now appear under the correct Auction House categories.
    * Survivalist gear and fishing poles have been moved to the Misc category on the Auction House.
    * Fixed a case where you could sometimes see chat from a guild you had already left.
    * Currency icons should no longer overlap on faction and planar merchant windows.
    * Incorrect Faction loading screens should no longer appear when loading into zones.

    1.8 World Event: War of the Wanton Maw

    *Fixed a few major rifts that were not dropping Invasion Orders

    General

    *Daily rift raids now give more Experience.
    *All crafted food stacks to 99
    *Smoldering Dagger now has higher dexterity than strength
    *Smoldering Island Shield now has more focus to make it even with other items of the same level.
    *Harvest nodes will now despawn after you loot them, even if you don’t take everything.
    *Fixed an issue with the Library: Mass Martyr Duration Leaderboard.

    Infernal Dawn

    *Muglak:
    -Fixed an issue that could cause additional enemies to despawn before the fight is over.
    -Will now properly reset after a failed attempt.
    -Encounter Barrier should now function correctly
    *Jumping on or around the Infernal Altars in the Ember Conclave encounter should no longer put players in combat.

    Souls


    Warden

    *Increased effectiveness of the following abilities in PvP:
    -Healing Spray: Reduction in PvP changed to 20% from 30%
    -Soothing Stream: Reduction in PvP changed to 35% from 40%
    -Healing Flood: Reduction in PvP changed to 30% from 50%
    -Overflow: Reduction in PvP changed to 60% from 75%

    User Interface


    *When exiting a warfront as a mercenary, the world quest tracker will no longer display twice.
    *Fixed a bug that would not allow you to leave a guild that had transferred away if you were the only remaining leader.

    Here comes Hotfix #4. addressing a lot of issues

    RIFT 1.8 Hotfix #4 - 5/2/12



    Namplates!

    *We’ve been working behind the scenes on a highly requested UI feature – Nameplates allow you to easily see the status of those around you while keeping your eyes on the fight!
    *By default, nameplates will replace the old health bars and appear above yours and your target’s heads while in combat.
    *We have a wide variety of settings, so customize to your heart’s content by going to Settings -> Interface -> Nameplates. You can swap between your customized settings and the default with Shift+V.
    *The options also allow you to turn the system off entirely, if desired.
    * Name colors can be customized in the Name Colors tab.

    World Event


    * Increased the drop rate for Power Cells while on the quest Parcels through the Cracks.

    Crafting/Items

    * The fishing artifact 'Trophy Stillmoor Devil' is now fishable in Stillmoor!
    * The description of all fish has been updated with the water depth and locations where they can be found.
    * Abandoning the 300 Skill Crafting Daily Quest will no longer remove the crafted items from your bags. However, you cannot have more than 4 of these items at any one time.
    * Mathosian Longbow daily quest recipe now correctly requires a Workbench instead of the Forge.
    * All Planar Attunement Tier 2 item enchants now require a lvl 50 item. Several runes now require items to be level 50 when applied.

    Infernal Dawn

    *Maklamos the Scryer:

    -Removed the cast time from an interruptible ability used by the three Juggernaut golems – if interrupted, it would cause them to become active with a higher health value than intended.
    -Failing to “solve” the Crystal Essences now triggers the intended consequences instead of no consequences.
    - Reduced agro range and moved his encounter wall up the hallway a bit.

    *Rusila Dreadblade:

    -Iron Wrath can no longer be avoided by moving further than 30m away.
    -Increased Rusila’s movement speed, she no longer moves in slow motion compared to other Infernal Dawn bosses.
    -Fixed an issue that could cause Rusila to use certain abilities much less frequently than intended.
    -Dreaded Snipers will now respawn appropriately.
    * Warforged Firestorms are once again susceptible to mesmerize effects.
    *Adjusted the Baleful Inferno ability “Rupture” to allow it to be interrupted by more abilities.
    *Adjusted the Pyrefly ability “Ember Strike” damage.

    Raids


    *Increased the amount of additional damage output granted by the Enrage buff.

    Souls

    Mage

    Chloromancer

    -Due to its change to instant cast, Withering Vine now gives 9 Charge when cast. Down from 15.

    Dominator:

    -Fixed an issue where Thunder Blast was not triggering Quick Thinking.
    -Fixed an issue where some control breaking abilities were removing both the root and damage effects of Storm Shackle. These abilities will now only remove the root effect.

    Necromancer

    -Fixed an issue where Vengeful Spirit was not preventing the Shadow Revenant’s Blood Corruption from removing stacks of Deathly Calling.

    Rogue

    Riftstalker:

    -Rift Barrier no longer redirects damage dealt by abilities that cannot be reflected.

    QQ Withering Vines nerf QQ

    The removal of having to let the first cast go through uninterrupted on the adds on Maklamos is a poor decision in my mind. Coordinating Arresting Prescence toggles was the hardest part.... Repercussions for healing through the lasers sounds like it's no a longer viable option, good change.

    Yeah, that was one of my biggest gripes with Rift too; the lack of nameplates. No more having to tab-cycle through mobs to see which one has the highest health. :P

    A bit more tweaking of ID, just to keep the 'pros' happy

    RIFT 1.8 Hotfix #5 - 8:00am PDT 5/8/12 [NA] - 1:00am GMT/2:00am BST 9/5/12 [EU]

    GENERAL

    * World Event: Fixed drop rates for War of the Wanton Maw quest items from Fire and Earth Zone Events.
    * World Event: The 1.8 World Event has been extended for a week, due to end Thursday, May 24th.
    * Riftstalker: Rift Barrier: Once again works on reflectable abilities. Rift Barrier now properly caps the amount of damage that can be reflected.
    * Items: Wrathful Flames and its lower-ranked versions now properly have a damage cap on reflected damage and can again be used on reflectable abilities.
    * Re-fixed Porticulum costs for in-zone travel; traveling between Porticulums within the same zone should charge 1 Gold consistently.
    * Improved the way channeled ability visual effects are hidden or partially shown when the 'Hide Other Players' Hit FX' setting is enabled.


    INFERNAL DAWN

    * Maklamos the Scryer:
    - Crystal Essence buffs will now - for real, finally, and after much gnashing of teeth - properly apply their consequences if players fail to resolve the beams before the duration runs out.
    - Increased the enrage timer of Maklamos. Enrage will now properly trigger after 8 minutes of combat.
    - Players receiving Scarlet, Emerald, or Azure Crystal Essence while standing on the corresponding crystal formations will no longer prevent the mechanic from being solved.
    - Crystalline Devastation now waits slightly longer before it begins to apply debuffs in its radius.
    - Altered Crystalline Devastation’s root-target effect.
    - Ruthless, Monstrous, and Merciless Juggernaughts now set their health in an appropriately uninterruptible fashion.
    * Rusila Dreadblade:
    – Dreaded Longshots just got more dread-able; they'll now be able to aim Dreadshot at anyone engaged in combat with them.


    PVP

    * Iron Pine PvP Daily Quests: Firebrand Steelclaws should no longer despawn prematurely when attacked before they began casting Revert.

    CRAFTING

    * The Outfitter crafting daily quest ‘Workorder: Icewatch Leggings’ no longer refers to Wool Socks.

    GENERAL

    * NPCs that are nearby but not fully displayed on your screen will show up briefly as green cylinder effects, until they are fully loaded. [this actually started after the last hotfix! ]
    * Rogues now regenerate 24 Energy per second, up from 23.
    * Elder Tablets and their lower level counterparts no longer grant Energy regeneration.
    * White Wedding garb and veil have agreed to stop eating dyes without changing color.

    INFERNAL DAWN


    * Laethys:
    - Increased Laethys' Enrage timer by 1 minute.
    - Increased the timer for the Laethys Achievement, 'Gold Rush', from 8 minutes to 9 minutes.
    - Slightly increased the time between minion spawns in the initial phase of the encounter.
    - Greed's Wrath will deal substantially less damage when it ticks just after the target has taken damage from Golden Subjugation.
    - Laethys no longer gains Energy while channeling Golden Destruction.
    - Gilded Shrapnel can no longer be reflected.
    * Maklamos the Scryer: Now with even more squashed bugs.


    INSTANT ADVENTURE - EMBER ISLE


    * Onslaughts should be more difficult now, but should also have a max number of Invasions that can spawn an attack a given location.
    * Unleaded Transmutation: This adventure should no longer wrongly inform you that some crates are already filled with lead.


    GENERAL


    * Looking For Group: Fixed a bug where you could occasionally be given a Random Normal dungeon when you had queued for a Random Expert.
    * Riftblade: Stoneshield: Fixed this so it no longer prevents certain Event and Boss mechanics it should not be able to block.
    * World Event: The end date on the World Event UI now actually matches the updated event ending date!
    * World Event: Rogue statues no longer appear in the middle of tents set up in Sanctum for the World Event.
    * The 'Hide Other Players' Hit FX' option now actually only applies to player VFX.
    * Fixed a case where attacks in duels wouldn't put characters into combat.
    * EU Shards: Players who have queued quest rewards from the current World event can now claim them properly from the UI.


    * Updated the landing page URLs from when you click the Support button on the patcher.

    Looks like Trion want people on Maelforge soon, a few more "tweaks" to the Laethys fight, expect a kill soon

    RIFT 1.8 Hotfix #9 - 8:00am PDT 5/23/12 [NA] - 1:00am GMT/2:00am BST 24/5/12 [EU]

    INFERNAL DAWN

    * Laethys:

    - Metallic Orbs cast by Laethys in the second part of the encounter will now prefer targets at range unless none are available. Also reduced their damage. The single Metallic Orb cast in the first part of the encounter remains unchanged.
    - High Ground's protection effect should be more responsive to players entering the affected areas. High Ground now provides immunity to Tail Lance and Molten Gold as well as Laethic Gold.
    - Silvered Wrath and Gilded Wrath now behave similarly to Greed's Wrath, dealing decreased damage when they tick just after the target has been hit by Golden Subjugation.

    GENERAL


    * Fixed some edge cases where a Leaderboard score might not expire from one week to the next.
    * Item: Flamecaller: Fixed the Hit and Focus values. Now has Endurance rather than Physical Crit.
    * Item: Flamecleaver: Fixed the Hit and Focus values.
    * Fixed a case where abilities recently added to a hotbar would sometimes disappear from the bar on next login.

    Oh my god they are nerfing Laethys already and she hasn't been out for a week yet. /rage

    I could be wrong on the duration of the Laethys fight being available, but I am sure there are some that would think this. I just wonder how long it will take these high end guilds to take down Maelforge if it has taken them this long for Laethys. As you can tell, I don't raid, and I usually skip over the raid info on these hotfixes. Not only could my computer not really handle it, but everyone seems to raid past 6pm server time (all pacific, I live on eastern), which is usually my log-off time. Sometimes I wouldn't mind them adding in a LFR type thing, but good lord I also don't want them to.

    Laethys has been nerfed twice now and has been out one and a half weeks.
    Before the first nerf she was not killable.
    Before today's changes there was maybe 2 guilds in the world capable of meeting the DPS check and actually killing the boss, if they had an absolutely perfect pull. The best so far is a 12% Enrage.
    With these changes that number might stretch out to 10-15 guilds with the skills to defeat the boss. But I wouldn't expect more than 1 or 2 kills this week, the majority of those 10-15 guilds will take another 1-3 weeks.
