You should never need to gem for spirit and should only reforge to spirit if the gear does not have spirit on it already

You can never have enough spirit as holy, especially on progression but even on farm. I'm also against the "if you end fights with a lot of mana you have too much spirit" arguments, since you don't want to stand there nearly OOM at 1% and a silly mistake wipes everyone. If you feel you have too much mana start spending more.

Well, I always gave that advice, but I also said that you might want a bit more, depending on what you're comfortable with.

For example: I always liked ending a clean kill (so no major mishaps) with 20 or 30% mana left. This was probably a bit too much, but it allowed for me to make up for huge mistakes (both my own and others').
