The first part of that is ok since green sucks for Disc, but then again green is the worst one for Pallies too so it goes both ways.

Have Priest take Red. Green for Pally to tide him over until Blue spawns. Then everyone will be happy about the buffs they get.

As others said have the priest take red and I'd also reccomend they simply smite heal for the first few minutes. It'll give you a bit more dps and the heals from smite will benefit from Red buff.
