Pertaining to the topic, why aren't you getting 5.1 speakers? Personally I've loved the shit out of mine since I've gotten them. Mind you mine are a bit more expensive, but...

Games with any sort of "impact" are quite enjoyable. A lot of times if I have them up loud enough I can almost feel the concussion of grenades going off. Even more fun with games such as Battlefield 3.

Something I notice about all the speakers you linked above...they are all low-end. The price alone gives that away...$50 range for a set of speakers...I don't know how much you care about sound quality, but from my perspective those speakers are only low-to-average quality. Music will lack oomph, sound effects will lack punch.

    Personally I use Astrogaming gear:

It's $249.99 which includes both the mixamp and the headphones.

Sound is very subjective. If you cannot hear the difference between something that's $100 versus something that's $1000, then the tremendous difference in money is wasted. Personally speaking I have experienced hearing loss...this means that I trouble hearing mid to low frequencies...makes me treasure and appreciate good sound all the more, and with headphones right against my ears, I can then hear all the little details that I otherwise would not.

If you are dead set on getting a set of speakers versus headphones though, I strongly recommend not just looking at "computer speakers" but also check out stuff from more prominent audio companies who specialize in sound. Their consultants will tell you...it's not about cranking up that bass to make those explosions go BOOM more, it's about as faithful reproduction of the sound as possible...
