    How does this look?

    Parts I am ordering:

    - i5 2500k $219.99
    - Asus 7850 $254.99
    - ASRock Z68 Extreme3 $121.99
    - Samsung Spinpoint 500GB $79.99
    - G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB 1600 $46.99
    - CM 212 EVO $34.99

    Total: $758

    Parts I am re-using:

    - Corsair 750TX
    - Xonar DX
    - Antec Three Hundred
    - Optical Drive, mouse/kb/monitor etc

This will be a machine for D3, GW2, BF3, Tera.. and any other game I fancy in the next couple of years. I originally budgeted myself $1000 or so but the current GPU market while waiting for NV's new mid-range cards makes me uphappy.. so i'm hoping to build this as is and if needed in year or 18 months pop in a better video card, assuming the i5 @ around 4.2 GHZ will still be good then. Maybe I should step up to a 7950 instead?

You could step up to a 7950 depending on how much you play BF3. If it is a lot it would be worth it, otherwise the rest of the games not so much.

This is what I would do-

Part list permalink / Part price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($142.86 @ Newegg)
    Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($124.99 @ Adorama)
    Total: $267.85
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

I am not sure if you know what an SSD drive is so ignore this if you do. It is basically a storage drive that reads data at 10x the speed of a normal HDD.

Since you have ~250 left over I would look into the SSD I linked above. You will never go back after you do

    I don't play BF3, I don't even own it yet... hence why i'm building a new PC.

I wasn't really considering SSD since it's more a QOL thing.. but now i'm thinking just keep my current HDD, skip buying a new overpriced one (tsunami bleh), and just putting that money towards a SSD instead.
