Messing Around With Control Undead (Video)

Haven't seen anyone post any extensive research with control undead so I thought I would do the liberty of testing its uses and showing you all what to look forward to. For those who don't want to watch a 7 minute video, here is the low down: This ability will be useless in MoP but will still be fun to mess around with in subtle areas.

    1. There are no undead creatures currently in MoP beta
    2. The dps of the controlled pet is way to minuscule
    3. Why give this to us in Mop instead of wrath?
    4. Going into a different area gets rid of the pet

I kind of want to control Thrym, and chase down and kill Lower level people.

who will shit themselves at the sight of Thrym merrily galloping straight for them.
Bow down before our new furry overlords!

YOU ARE BRILLIANT. I SWEAR TO GOD if that is possible, I will be willing to take a ban for harassment just to try it.
Elyaan may have made this. Possibly maybe.

While I do agree that Control Undead doesn't seem particularly useful, you can still do some interesting-ish things with it... For example, if you mind control an undead in eastern kingdoms proper, then hearth back to stormwind, it'll pop up as hostile in the inn. If you (VERY) quickly re-mind control it before the guards can one-shot it, you have a fun pet following you around. My two favorites are Ix'lar the underlord and The Ray-Getz-Kalaba Monstrosity. Feel like you're running around with a miniature Anub'arak or Rotface!

I'd post screenshots, but for the life of me I can't find where the Beta saves them...

    EDIT: found 'em...

As a note about what you said about Unholy DK's, they replace your Ghoul, but apparently they can take Shadow Infusion Stacks and will also transform into the Ultra Ghoul when DT is used. There was a screenshot demonstrating it on an Undead mob that was mounted. It had the DT Ghoul Model just standing on a Horse. Was quite amusing.

This would have been perfect during Wrath honestly. Makes me sad we didn't have it then

Imagine. In every instance, there'd be something fun or cool you could do.

Doesn't work on other players, tried it already.

also kinda wondering why we did not get this spell in wrath? better late than never i guess.

Hoping that since its only "beta" that at some point some undead will be added to new MOP zones. I like flavor abilities as much as the next guy but I would like to see some practical use as well

Yall are forgetting that any fun you could have had with this is going to be nerfed into oblivion before live. Just like Dark Simulacrum, Heroic Leap, and a dozen other abilities. In the end we will end up with a short duration MC that replaces your current pet, will not take infusion, does pathetic DPS, disappears upon zoning or taking any portal or entering any instance/raid/scenario and that only works on about half of the undead mobs in the game excluding entirely dungeon and raid bosses, most dungeon mobs, and the palette of anything with a model larger than the average undead ghoul.
