Do you think 16 raid bosses + 2 world bosses is too many?

I realize that it's not always best to complain about too much content, but currently there are 16 raid bosses and 2 world bosses on the beta. Am I the only one who feels that this is too many? I realize it seems odd to complain about too much content, but I would almost rather have two of the 6 boss raids or a four boss raid and a 6 boss raid, and then release the other raid a few months later (3-4 months).

I just feel that with needing to do dailies and scenarios for tokens and vp, farming lfr for gear, combined with other leisurely activities (such as pet battles and farming), there will not be enough raid time. If I remember correctly, people were complaining a lot about the length of t11, and this is 3 more raid bosses (which is almost an entire raid or tier in itself)

In other words, I think ds is the perfect length for a 4-5 month patch ><, and I feel that there might just be too much content at the release. Does anyone else feel this way?

Personally I feel that this many bosses is Blizzard's way of overcompensating for the complaints about the 7 and 8 boss tiers we've had, and to see if players will be happy with the length of the tier or if it would be better to dial it down to 12 like t10 and t11.

Also, if they are t11 difficulty bosses the tier will drag on a while and it could get boring but if the bosses are only as hard as Dragon Soul then this would be a pretty good length for a tier.

If there's 16 raid boss's, I'm hoping to god that some of them are for the casual crowd... and then the rest are for the hardcore heroic raiders.

Well, it almost can't be "too much" at one time. It's a good thing, but I do greatly share your concern that having a whole lot at launch will mean a lackluster amount of stuff after launch. If I had to choose between only those two situations, I'd definitely want it spread out.

I can't say I raid very seriously, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I like the idea of lots of bosses. The more bosses there are, the more choice you have in what you want to do on any given week - you can do some of it in one week, then do something different some other time. Means you're not constantly confined to the one thing over and over and over again, which gets really repetitive...sort of like DS :P
There might be a god. Even if there isn't, we as a species should play it safe and put effort into emulating his powers. That way, if such a being were ever to turn against us, we could combat it on equal ground.

And yes, I just suggested an arms race against god.

That is a great thought, I would like to do this except often groups want to try to clear all the content in a week. I definitely feel compelled to do this.

I agree that Blizz is overcompensating a bit over the lack of raid bosses in previous tiers. I, however, do not see this as a bad thing unless the quality of the encounters takes a hit. If 3 of those bosses are just "avoid bad stuff, dispel debuff, nuke boss, win" then it will be disappointing. If the encounters are engaging then with so many to deal with we can really just choose what we kill on a nightly basis. Choice of raid content is never a bad thing imo. We shall see what the encounters look like...

Tier 11 was one of the best designed raid tiers ever with lots of variety, creativity and a linear difficulty. If Blizzard manages to do the same with tier 14 then it will be amazing as well. Now you have a choice on how you want to spend your time. Dont have time for progression? Well you're not the first person to become a non-raider.. Or you have the option of doing LFR or do a different raid each week through pugs.

Now the question remains wether Blizzard can keep this standard or continue like they did with tier 12 and 13...

We had 13 raid bosses for T11, +5 world bosses that could be done in a decent group and dropped decent gear. So, 18.
Wrath had 17 bosses+3 mini bosses to start with. no world bosses.

TBC, if you count ALL raids open at the start, you had a whopping 25+ raid bosses, plus 2 fairly difficult actual world raid bosses.

I personally feel that the T11 model was excellent. However, having only 2 additional "small raids" after that was extremely disappointing, I was looking forward to the supposed War of the Ancients and Abyssal Maw raids.
Anyone ever notice how the sun seems to shine silverish now? Didn't it used to shine goldish? PM me if you've noticed this.

Prioritize your play time, you'll have 2 years and beyond to play with pet battles, personally I think overloading most of us with content is a good thing. Just wait until the bandwagon stops by this thread to try and convince otherwise... I think I hear it approaching now.

Sixteen bosses and 2 world bosses is plenty to keep the majority busy for a few months and that's not including pet battles, challenges (scenarios?) new normal and heroic dungeons, brand new continent ..... I think you get the idea, besides, I'd rather not be drip fed content in such small doses as we did in Cataclysm, do you?

It's the beginning of the expansion, it's been this way since BC, Wrath, and Cata. Albeit most of Wrath's starting content was rehashed garbage with only one interesting boss (Malygos) and a semi-decent HM (Sarth, harder on 10) so...yeah. I just hope they don't drop back down to a 7 and 8 boss raid with only one boss being hard. Also, when was it 16 + 2? I thought it was 14 + 2 world bosses?

    "Also, when was it 16 + 2? I thought it was 14 + 2 world bosses?"

They added two more bosses in the most recent beta patch.

no one bothered with the 5 world bosses in t11 content, i would hardly call ilvl 346 gear decent gear.

Karazan had 12 bosses by itself... (and thats excluding permuations of each Opera boss and all 3 of the cellar beasts.)

Gruul had 2 bosses, Magtheridon 1, SSC had 6 and TK had 4... toss in Kazzak and Doomwalker...

That brings the grand-total to 27 raid-specific bosses at launch for BC.

Wrath had Sarth (excluding each mini-boss drake), Malygos, Archavon and all of Naxxramas... Naxxramas had 15 bosses (rehash or not... the OP is talking about the #of bosses, not the quality of them) - brings our total to 18 bosses at launch for Wrath.

Now, tell me, do you think BC and Wrath had too many bosses at launch when those expansions had MORE bosses at launch than Pandaria? Also note these expansions didn't benefit from having an LFR-Mode either. :P

    Fuck no.

Raid content should last longer than 2 weeks.

Make them ALL hard on heroic mode. Make the later half NOT possible without a decent amount of heroic and good normal mode gear.

I never had a problem clearing all of Naxx in a week.

I'm much more casual of a raider now, so 16 LFR bosses in a week, broken down into 4 boss wings that should be doable in an hour each wing? Sounds like a couple good afternoons for me. And that's not counting the next tiers of raids, so hopefully, Blizz decides to keep up with the more bosses thing. I hated doing full clears in one night, but that's just me.
