    A website for posting pictures?

As the title say, is there a website for posting pictures? I don't mean things like facebook or social media.

To be brief, what happens is that my father took a lot of pictures at my sister's wedding, and he's been sending out emails with pictures attached to them. Due to limited email space, he has been sending out numerous emails.

Is there a website where my dad could just upload the pictures, and then send the URL to family members, so they could view them at their leisure? It'd be hella lot easier than sending numerous emails.

For obvious reasons, we'd prefer it to be private, not public (like facebook), so maybe a place where he could post "family wedding" and those in the know would know where to go.

    Let me know,
    Thanks!

photobucket is your best shot. Doubt anybody will look at them and if they do it will be 10 people max unless there's some random nude photo

I use the following site to upload large files:

    Verzend.be
    http://verzend.be/login.html

Open an account so you can make the files private (otherwise you can use it but anything you upload is public). It is free storage service though you'll have to endure some ads. This is good only is you want people to actually download them.

The other option is to use a site that creates a gallery of the photos. People can then see them first before downloading them. Flicker is good for that: (free too)

There are a number of sites for what you need, just have to do the research.

Dropbox is great, but it does require efforts from both parts. Also i don't personally use Facebook so i may be wrong, but isn't it possible to set pictures to only a certain group of people?

A friend uses picasa for that a lot, uploads the set of photos and then have the link to the album sent as mail to the intended recipients. You won't see the album unless you have the link.

If you don't want to upload them to Facebook or something, make an Imgur.com account and just make an album on there and link them to that.

imageshack and photobucket suck, please don't use them, they are full of ads and often downsize the images to horrible quality.

Use imgur.com for life!!! I have still never found anything bad about imgur.com. O_o

Awesome recommendations, guys. Since some of my family members are stupid when it comes to computers, the simpler to use, the better. Majority of them dont even have facebook accounts (that's why no social media).

I did some poking around, and I recommended to my dad those two

    http://imgur.com/

    and

    http://picasa.google.com/

Should be sufficient for what he needs.

    Again, thanks guys.

Photobucket has ads? Never seen an ad and I'm using basic, guess that's what ad-block is for? Downized sure, but to horrible quality? No.

I'm honestly surprised more people aren't recommending imgur.com. Blows away Photobucket, Imageshack, or any of those. Extremely simple and streamlined interface, easy to use. It's excellent, I highly recommend it.

i always use imgur, its by far the best image site for me, photobucket and imageshack always really slow for me, not sure why but i stay way from them

I would recommend Imgur. I use it all the time myself. I have a couple hundred pics I've put in there over time. Nice simple layout, reliable speed, and no bandwidth limitations that I'm aware of (unlike photobucket).

imgur.com is the best there is.
Simply select all pictures you want in the album, check the "group images into an album" box and start uploading. You can even add a title and description to every single picture.
