"an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color." - Music, Dictionary.com

Dubstep definitely is music, whether you enjoy it or no, just to put that out there.
I listen to dubstep while working out, pvping, etc, things that are already "exciting."
As others have said, I like to listen to it to pump myself up and such. Now, I like other music too like alternative rock, etc.
Dubstep is just unique, and a lot of it is too obnoxious. One of my favorite tracks, which imo is a beautiful:

I've gained an irrational hate for it after seeing it plastered into seemingly every gameplay video on Youtube. It's like the modern equivalent of "Bodies" that plagued the same videos a couple years back, but instead of a single song it's an entire genre.

    I cannot into signatures

I have 2 friends who like that noise (one of them is my housemate and have heard enough of it to know it sucks), rest of my friends like Alternative rock, Metal, Pop and other genres.

Du(m)bstep sounds like a Washing machine raping a Mixer filled with gravel while the fire alarm is on.

^ That's what I'm talking about: most people are so ignorant they only see the shitty side of dubstep and can't recognize the best part of it even when it's right in front of them.

We, get it, you don't like dubstep.

Also, no, THIS sounds like a washing machine raping a mixer filled with gravel while the fire alarm is on.

Its kinda funny actually, this exact song was one of the first Dub step songs I ever listened too. I was closing the store I work at with a co-worker and she set up a music stream for us to listen to while we worked. I personally liked this one, simple because it was so relaxing and just leaves you feeling good. As she explained too me, shes HUGE into Dub step, that in her opinion 60% of the genre is absolute trash, but the 40% that is good, is down right amazing.

I saw Skrillex (Dubstep) at Ultra Music Festival this year, he killed it. I also saw Bassnectar (Drum & Bass)............he DESTROYED it.

Can't find the original post of the song, but the Blackmill Feat. Veela - Let It Be track sounds pretty amazing. Didn't even know this music was called dubstep too.

And here is the problem with music and culture.

When I say: "Listen to this awesome song, it's got a really good feel to it"

Ambiguous Person says: "What kind of music is it?"

...You answered your own question, it's MUSIC who cares wtf it's 'called'?

Sound is just waves of energy bouncing into our brains. We don't critique waterfalls and try to classify them as a genre of sound. It's just an effing waterfall. As much as I like talking about music, sometimes I wish we could just listen to something and say, I do or don't like it, without having to classify "Dubstep sounds like robots dancing with dragons underwater".
