Dps has 3 factors, not 2. Attack speed and average damage per hit are the easy ones. Time on target is what throws a wrench into the whole system.

It's very unrealistic to expect close to 100% time on target in a combat system like the one TESO has. Time on target will vary wildly based on many factors. In wow, time on target is much more predictable.

For example. If someone does 10 average damage per hit, attacks 1 time per second and has 100% uptime, then they'd do 10 dps over a period of infinity. If you cut the time on target by 50% though, you cut the dps by 50%. Balancing around time on target is inherently flawed in a game that promotes blocking and dodging as core mechanics, and you're inevitably penalized for doing anything but balls to the wall dps, which is not how the game is intended to be played.
If Goku's power level increases at the same rate till the end of DBGT as it does till the end of the Frieza saga, as a SS4 Goku would have a PL of roughly 939 Quinoctogintillion. For reference that is a 260 digit number. A PL of 14,600 is required to destroy an earth sized planet. There are about 2 nonillion earths worth of mass in the universe. That means SS4 Goku can destroy the universe about 32 Octosexagintillion times over. There's a reason they made Goku a god at the end of GT.

Questing experience in any Elder scroll game consists of two kinds of quests: "go fetch" and "go kill". It is incredibly primitive by comparison with most others RPGs. Are they going to implement the real RPG quests, because what they had so far was rubbish?

Indeed. There are very few that I can think of that at the base level deviate from this.

Exactly. The difference with Elder Scrolls games is that you're so involved in the game world that the most menial tasks become more interesting.

After reading Zenimax's response to the guy who asked about raids in the latest "Ask Us Anything", I'm starting to think they've changed their mind on waiting until after launch to release Adventure Zones. If they were still going to wait until after launch, they probably would have repeated it. Instead they said "we're not ready to talk about it yet blah blah blah". I don't know... could be horribly wrong and am just trying to be optimistic, but hope I'm right.

You may be right. ZOS has been really good about listening to and responding to what the fan base wants.

You should be ashamed of yourself for spreading such frivolous lies. Clearly if another wave had gone out they would have rectified their error of not inviting me in the first wave.

I can't think of what else you could possibly do. Even in real life, any task can be described as either "get something", "make something", or "kill something". There's no fourth option, as far as I'm aware.

You forgot "protect/escort someone or something"

As for kill quests: Completing Sheogorath's quest in Morrowind to kill the giant bull netch with the Fork of Horripilation was actually fun simply because it was insane.

Yould also have to solve some sort of puzzle. There are enough ways to make questing entertaining, just have a little faith!

You can certainly add depth and complexity, I won't argue that. I'm just saying that at the end of the day, if people get butthurt because a quest can be boiled down to killing, creating, or retrieving, then they're going to spend their entire life in perpetual butthurt.

Protect Quests are basically kill quests with a fail mechanic. The game still has a set number of mobs you need to kill because it spawns mobs at certain points. 99.9% of all quests come down to killing something some way. The only ones that don't are ones that require you to move from location to location either talking to npc's or picking up stuff with no mobs around. Most quests are boring, every MMO player knows that. If a designer wants to make a good quest it needs to have a gimmick. It can have humor, story or things like vehicles that are not normally used in basic quests.
