    [Restoration] Haste vs. Mastery

This is it, i recently re-rolled Resto Druid, and i'll keep with it in the next Expansion.
Atm, i've reforged/gemmed/enchanted everything to Mastery.

Idk everything about Resto Druids yet, i'm still learning more and more each day.
I know that, if i reforged/gemmed into Haste i can get to 2005. My gear isn't that great, but its enough for Dragon Soul Normal and some Heroics.

My guild is progressing into Dragon Soul HC, we're abit late since we pass from 10 to 25, and we're still regrouping a decent core.

So, this is my question, what is really better as Restoration Druid in Dragon Soul: MAX Haste cap or like 916 Haste and getting as much Mastery as I can?
Tbh i think it should be really depending on the rest of the Healing Setup/type of the enconter, but i'm not sure, that's why im posting.

This is my armory at this moment (http://eu.battle.net/wow/pt/characte...A4nyy/advanced), if you have usefull Tips of any kind about everything you see, just shout me, so I can learn more and get better each fight!

Like you said, it highly depends on the healing comp your group uses. My 25 man group typically goes with 6-7 healers (and we wonder why we're having dps issues on h spine) But we have two resto shammies, two holy paladins, two discs (although one has recently been going holy more often) and then either a spriest goes holy, or he have a resto druid. With our other healers, the hots don't have the type of time to get the benefit of the extra tick at 2005, as our other healers are topping them off before the hot expires. If that is the case with your raid, I would go for the high mastery build you're currently rocking. If you have "meh" healers, the haste build might be more beneficial for you.

Then, it also depends on your personal play style, and healing assignment. If you're tank healing, mastery is good, if you're raid healing, either works, etc... So, you need to give a few more variables to get a very defined answer.

2005 haste and then all out mastery (having enough spirit is crucial of course).

If you can hit 2005 haste without sacrificing too much it is the best choice for a druid by far.

EDIT: Just looked at your armory, with 394 ilevel you can hit the haste break-point easy with points to spare. I've got 388 and I have 2005 haste with 17+% mastery.

Our healers are too good, and I can keep going with them, so its cool. I'm doing too much Overheal, but.. that's the way i like it, since I'm spamming all the time, either they need heal or not. When I specc this build full of Mastery I only improve my Healing on Yorsahj HC, before (with Haste) I was having some problems to keep a Group up with the Purple Ooze up, and with Mastery, my Healing Touch just top them easly.

Another Question, if anyone can help: For Hagara HC, Haste should be better then Mastery right?
I'm having problems on healing Hagara and Warlord, and idk why..

Haste > mastery in terms of hps for healing touch spam.

Haste to break points > mastery in terms of hps for hots.

    always get 2005 haste

As said, always get 2005 haste. You want to spec for what is going to be best overall for the fight/s you are progressing on. If you are having some problem on purple ooze, change your strat, not drop your cap and fuck your healing for all other phases of that fight + all other fights in DS.

Int is by far your most important stat and you can drop a pretty solid amount for the cap and see a dramatic healing increase. You never drop int for mastery. Haste cap > mastery by far.

Yes, I just reforged again to Haste. Still i miss some gems/enchants now.
Atm, i'm with no reforges, and ill do it tomorrow as soon as i logg in.

Tbh, @ hagara, i'm doing only arround 20k hps, wich isn't much. Even with Mastery build or Haste capped build.
I still have to improve alot my healing, but should be ok in a week or so. In the other hand, i can get ranked next time I'll heal Morchok HC wich is nice .

Thanks alot guys, otherwise i would never decide between Mastery or Haste, hehe.
I've read some good guids, now.. its all about training .

    Best Regrads,

P.S.: Myrrarar, That movie is so AWESOME. And that girl! Well, I guess everyone who sees it, gets in love for her... xD

I would recomend reforge more spirit into haste instead mastery into haste. Keep in mind, that mastery counts in whole numbers (round numbers) - check description. Currently you have master 14.61 - best effecient closer 15 or 14 not in middle.

If you go 25man, and have good healers already, dont hold to have spirit so high. You have 3k in spirit - its a good resource to reforge it into mastery or haste (for cap).

The tooltip is misleading (Showing only the percentage and no decimal) but what you say is not the case.

Mastery was rounded for like the first 3-4 weeks in Cata, then they changed it to actually work.
    Moo, are you happy now?

I post monster amounts of overhealing and have no trouble with current content. As near as I can tell, this is working as intended, I wouldn't worry about it or think of it as "doing too much" overhealing. It's just part of our kit that we're throwing a lot of HoTs around, and sometimes they go to "waste", especially when prehotting.
