I'm a mount collector so this would be the best thing in the world for me.
I hope it makes it to live.
And I hope they let us keep the class specific ones, because I enjoy riding my charger on my druid and my deathcharger on my shaman.
And my dreadsteed on my warrior.
That's not what BoA means. "Binding" is a property of an item. Mounts being accountwide is a re-tooling of the entire mount system to be applied to your account and not a character. That is not the same thing as an item being mailable between characters on the same account.
Now I just need to know if this works cross-realm.
Edit: Hell to the yes, it works cross-realm!!!!!!!

o swift zulian tiger how i missed you so
Oddly enough none of mine are shared to any of my other toon be they on the same faction nor not. o.O I even re-transfered mymount collector got nothing out of it.
I speak my mind, I don't sugar coat it and I don't read replies because most of the time it's someone who apparently "got their feelings hurt".
It works!
Made a premade draenei paladin. Logged in on it. Switched over to my live copy warrior and tada! She is now able to ride the Draenei Paladin Elkks!
Edit: make sure you log onto every character, seemed to make them get copied across. Also, theres a bug atm where mounts are not showing up or w/e, sometimes you have to relog to clear that.

Heres a video showing how the BoA system is working atm between same faction and cross faction races. Also achievements seem to be BoA Also! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AXkJCrd2-Q
Doing things the ret way.Check out my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/Syigamer!

Hunter on Dreadsteed? Pandarian on Charger?
So class specific mounts are no longer such as per se? Less and less unique class traits. I hope developers will at least put class restriction on class specific mounts, so other classes couldn't use them.
Worst thing ever. WORST EVER.
I stopped playing my alts. No need to do anything with them as all achievements will be handed to them automatically.
What a dreadful game breaking implementation for an mmorpg that drives on long term commitments.
I was having so much fun in acquiring a second or third Justicar title for an alt.
It was the main reason I played with these guys.
Blizzard just killed off 50% of why people keep on playing with their alts.
I think it is the second biggest blunder in the history of Wow.
The first was the personal rating on pvp gear in arenas 3 years ago: it led to a 70% decrease in arena play.
But ... Come to think of it ...
.... If people will loose intrest of playing their alts for achievements... It could be the worst of all changes.
I honestly suspect that redoing achievements is low on the motivation list for playing alts. Professions, playing different classes/races, and heck, transmogrification outfits probably all rank higher.
That said, just because Achievements are Account-wide doesn't mean you can no longer get the achievement on your alts (the exceptions will probably include the pet and mount collection ones). The achievements track which character has gotten the achievement, and I'm sure you still get notified when you get an achievement on an alt, even if another one of your toons has already gotten it.

Love these ideas, same with account-wide achievements.
It's always bothered me that certain achievements, in themselves and mounts, on one character don't apply to others. It creates a sort of emotional boundary to rolling another character because "Well, I've spent this much time on my Mage, achieved 7000 points, got all those special titles and mounts, I can't drop them all for a completely new character right?".
Well done Blizzard, though class-specific mounts may remain class-specific.
On the contrary, people have said that this will make them want to play alts more, and potentially switch characters around because they won't feel like they're losing their achievement progress by switching to a new toon.
If you like getting Justicar on a third alt then you must play this game way too much.
How about mounts on the opposite faction excluding faction mounts
I noticed that my huntress has all the mounts that my druid main has, both were copied over to the Beta. But the mounts of uncopied toons (my other druid has the headless horsemen's mount) don't show, so if I'd copy her over, I assume that they all have it too.
So now my non druid characters can swim on Poseidus that my druid has (but hey, orca form beats everything!)
My huntress doesn't have any of the rare drop mounts apart from time-lost, so I just checked that she has them all now. I'm sure people that camped multiple rares and spent hours are a bit miffed, but I enjoyed my camps and never spent weeks and weeks on them, so I really don't mind the change at all.
