    Leveling Sub Tips Please? <3

    Hi!

Started playing a worgen rogue recently, and i always level a toon with the spec I want to play (note as alts arent my main they won't be targeted at the optimal specs, but rather what I want out of the class)

That said I know very little about rogues, as my now level 15 rogue is the highest I've ever managed! (/huzzah) and I've decided to play as subtlety spec.

I've done a bit of reading, and have looked for guides, but only seem to be able to find high end raid/pvp guides. Obviously a lot of the points made in these won't apply to me yet, as I don't have most of the abilities yet.

is the pve spec everyone goes on about. While leveling do I just want to follow this guide? or would talents like nightstalker be more useful for getting around quicker etc?

Also when do i get some interesting abilities? so far I start in stealth, shadowstep, ambush and then SS until 5CP for evis. This is fine on most mobs, but on bosses the SS to evis spam soon becomes boring. . . when do i start getting some fun stuff? or is it a bit of a case if I don't like what I'm doing now I'll probably not get much out of the class?

I can't post links but highly recommend you google Shadowpanther. That site while not being the most friendly to navigate has a fair amount of decent starter tips. In the top menu "Misc" goto levelling tips and there you'll see some levelling talents and such to help you along.

I also recommend you pvp as you level if you can as you'll learn a whole lot more about the class than you will just killing mobs. (Early levels are a complete gankfest :P but as you progress you will learn more over time about the mechanics of the class)

    Hope that helps.

If you have heirlooms it's just premed -> SS ambush -> evis. Dead.

When your SS is on CD just spam hemo after the opener and use 5CP evis.

Try and keep SnD up if you find that you aren't 2 shotting things, recup at low health. That's about all there is to it.

thanks for the advice! i had a quick look at the site, shall look more in depth after work, would you suggest the pvp leveling build then?

what about the question about abilities? is it going to get more ineteresting?

Im not using 'looms at the moment, as all my 'looms are on horde toons, and as i said this is a worgen toon. I made it mainly to finally play through the worgen start area, but am kinda liking the rogue even if its currently not as exciting as other toons . . .

I might remake the toon on horde side to make use of the 'looms, although I don't have any daggers, i've only got the maces, so might have to farm some daggers xD

You'd honestly get on just fine with maces in a leveling sub spec. Hemo can be used (at 29, iirc?) with a non-dagger and ambush works with maces as well. I wouldn't be overly concerned about "effective" BoA weaponry when leveling sub... you'll see things kinda drop at your feet until you're out of BoA.

You can mail looms cross faction now, just not cross server.

get 2/2 initiative talents, premeditation>cheap shot>5c eviscerate>backstab>backstab>eviscerate or recuperate excess combo points for energy gain. in certain lvl brackets this might also work, prem>ambush>eviscerate. 2 shot mobs/players

    Shadowstep, Ambush, Profit

i also find backstab cost to much energy pre slaughter of the shadows. so i used hemorrhage instead of backstab.

also are you only doing quest? or your doing dungeons? or mainly pvp?

sub is great for pvp. not so great on pre 85 pve.(can't do a full rotation because mobs die to fast.)

combat is great for questing/dungeon(no ramp up time like sub and assa). and you got the best cleave in game.
