Ouija board is on my bucket list... one of the few I wish I hadn't written down.

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.
as some have guessed from my username, i'm hawaiian. coming from the islands you learn there are somethings that you just DO NOT fuck with. this is one of those things. my grandmother told me a long time ago "you don't open doors that you can't close. you never know what you're inviting in." those damn things may be marketed as a toy, but it's not a game you should mess with.
back in the early 2000s there was a show on mtv called Fear. they'd take a group of people into haunted places, make them spend the night going around doing scary things by themselves in the dark, including use a ouija board, "automatic writing", basically things that were supposed to call spirits to them. whoever was still there at dawn won money. there was one episode in particular where there were in an abandoned prison or insane asylum or some crap like that. on a later "what happened after" episode one of the girls from that show broke down crying saying after being on the show things had started happening to her. after seeing a priest she was basically told something had attached itself to her and "followed" her home from that place.
long story short: whether you believe in something or not, don't fuck with things unless you're prepared to deal with the possible consequences.
And I bet the producers used a thorough selection process, to make sure only the most gullible/superstitious candidates got on the show. Perhaps they also "wired" the place, to augment the candidates' own imaginations.
But imagine they got a James Randi as candidate, that would have spoiled the entire episode!

They don't bring "negative energy" in unless you ask for it, or are in a place with it (ie a prison, graveyard, abandoned building.)
Ouija board is not real... if it there was spirit around why on earth would they need your hand to move the damn pointer? they could of just move it on their own without us even touching the pointer on the board. Go try it... do it alone coz if you get your friends to do it, one of those retard will actually try to move the pointer to make it look like it's moving on it's own. Do it alone and you'll see it won't move at all.
amusingly enough I am betting most of the people who think these boards work also voted yes to dragons existing in the other thread...
Don't bother with those. They can't read "negative energy" or do anything like that any more than a pack of cards can. They are man-made (or perhaps machine-made in some factory?), and no man (or machine) can insert "magic" into a piece of wood or whatever material it is made from.
If you seriously want to try one of those, be my quest. Just don't let that shit get into your head.
Well, if you believe in such things and have no hesitations to waste your money for this, then have fun.
All these esoteric things are total rubbish.
It may be funny to punk other people with it.
I made one once, a piece of paper with all the letters/numbers/symbols ect and a little marker thing for the Ghost fella to pick letters.
Nothing happened, apparantly Ghosts know quality Ouija boards and bad quality ones when they see it.
