    [Bio] Rihazai (Rihanna) Flamesprocket

    Name: Rihazai (Rihanna) Flamesprocket

    Age: 17

    Race: Goblin

    Gender: Female

Languages: Goblin, Orcish (Sketchy), Zandali, Kalimag (Enough to know that Reth Reth Reth is a bad thing)

    Class: Shaman

    Faction: None

Personality: Rihanna is very hot headed and quick to act, quickly embracing the calling of Air and Fire elements. She is quick witted and sharp tongued, often cutting down her enemies with a flurry of words and axes. But going to the complete other side of the spectrum Rihanna is also a people person, always talking to someone but rarely the same person as her tendency to say the first thought that stomps through her brain puts people off. Rihanna has a hard relationship with the elements often being denied the elements when she calls for them, sometimes simply for asking to much or just arguing with them about something they have asked for.

Rihanna likes long walks along the molten front, trying to call the elements, arguing, Troll music and sparring with Orcs.

Rihanna dislikes Elves as they always have something to say about her height or hair, windriders as one ate her favorite backpack during a recent stay in orgrimmar, losing an argument, having her technological abilities made fun of, warlocks because fel magic smells funny and makes her sneeze.

Appearance: Rihanna is quite small for goblin and her skin is the normal shade of green that most goblins have. Her face is framed by long messy blue hair that has been awkwardly tied off at each side of her face in two piggytails that are not the same length. Her eyes are a bright violet and always seem to dart around as if she was watching something run around in front of her. She wears a tunic that she claimed from her recent conquests against the black dragonflight and has decorated them accordingly with skulls and bones of her draconic victims. Her weapons of choice are two axes that she found during her times in the molten front amongst the Defenders of Hyjal.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Rihanna is in extremely good physical condition and is able to wield a weapon with ease and precision even against heavily armored foes. Not only is she good with a melee weapon but Rihanna also has a vast knowledge of shamanistic magic able to call forth devastating fire and lightning strikes against her foes. Rihanna is also an excellent scribe who is very talented with a parchment.

However Rihanna has never been very good at using her shamanistic powers to heal and protect. She has never been able to create and build like other goblins and in turn has a short temper when she is confronted about it. Rihanna is also very weak when it comes to the calling of earth and water elements as she finds it hard to calm down her chaotic mind which is more suited to Air and Fire.

    History:
“No No No, you don’t connect that to the thermal injectors Rihazai” Giztro shouted at his daughter who was not actually interested in building in the first place. “I don’t know what goes where anyway, why should I even care about this at all?” Rihazai snapped back at her father, her fiery temper coming out again. She picked up the wrench next to her and clenched her fist around it and the feeling started to happen again as if her insides were being set alight.

Rihazai put the wrench down and sighed deeply trying to calm herself “I heard people talking about her again, someone in the inn said they have seen her in the jungles” her father sighed at her, he was scared and she could tell “I want to find her, I’m not supposed to be here I can feel it” Rihazai said hanging her head. She shouldn’t be listening to her feelings it wasn’t the goblin thing to do.

“I’m going to find her” she said adamantly to her father. “No I forbid it Rih, you are not going out into the darn jungle to look for some goblin woman who put twigs and leaves before sprockets and bolts” Giztro shouted throwing his hammer to the floor. “Yes I am and I would like to see you stop me” Rihazai said narrowing here eyes at her father, “If you walk out of this city you are no longer a flamesprocket” he shouted after her trying desperately trying to get her to stay.
Rihazai flinched at the words but she held her pain in “I never was a flamesprocket” she said softly as she walked out of the shop and onto the boardwalk where there was a group of goblins all stood watching her, she would never be welcome back in booty bay and she knew it”

    Welcome to the RP forums!

There are a few things I have to say that I think would make your character much clearer but for I just want to discuss the major issue I see. Now this may be just a wording error but it seems like you are thinking of shaman's like mages. I just wanted to make sure that was not the case.

Shamans don't exactly cast spells in the traditional sense. Their power isn't taken but borrowed from the elements. It is a very spiritual connection that unfortunately can be broken easily. So I would say arguing with the spirits would be kind of risky (but that's just my take on shamanism). So instead of her summoning devastating fire or a lightening bolt it would be more that she has a strong bold with those two spirits, Air and Fire. Also as a shaman her totems would be her most important aspect in her bio, in my opinion. They serve as a connection to the elements and without them it would be very difficult to commune with them. Again this is my opinion, but they serve as the only symbol of their bound and as the the huge amount of respect Rihanna would have for them.

I believe this conversation between Drek'Thar and Thrall sums up what a shaman really is very nicely.

DREK'THAR: The wolves are not tamed, not as you might understand the word. They have come to be our friends because I invited them. It is a part of being a shaman. We have a bond with the things of the natural world, and strive always to work in harmony with them. Warlocks would term them spells, but we shamans simply term them calls. We ask, the powers we work with answer. Or not, as they will. I can call the snows, and wind, and lightning. The trees may bend to me when I ask. The rivers may flow where I ask them to.
THRALL: If your power is so great, then why do you continue to live in such a harsh place? If what you are saying is true, you could turn this barren mountaintop into a lush garden. Food would never be difficult to come by, your enemies would never find you—
DREK'THAR (angrily): And I would violate the primary agreement with the elements, and nothing of nature would ever respond to me again! Do you understand nothing? Have the humans sunk their greedy talons in you so deeply that you cannot see what lies at the heart of a shaman's power? I am granted these things because I ask, with respect in my heart, and I am willing to offer something in return. I request only the barest needs for myself and my people. At times, I ask great things, but only when the cause is good and just and wholesome. In return, I thank these powers, knowing they are borrowed only, never bought. They come to me because they choose to, not because I demand it! These are not slaves, Thrall. They are powerful entities who come of their own free will, who are companions in my magic, not my servants. Pagh! You will never understand.
PS: I really like the start of your history ^.^

Nonfic you have to realize that goblin shaman are a bit different from traditional shaman. They treat their bond with the elements like a business. They have a mutually beneficial partnership with an elemental, and by giving... something (not entirely sure what) to the elemental, they are able to channel its power when they care to. At least, that's how I think it works. I don't think that they have the same sort of casting style that the more spiritual shaman use.

Hmm.... I was not aware of this I will have to read more. But as far as I have seen so far it is based on the same principles as other race's practices. So perhaps arguing and dealing would be appropriate. But even still I would say it's based on a mutual respect.

I so love the little quirks of this Bio/character. It totally hits the spot for me on how a goblin should come across.

While I don't think the let's say spirited relationship with the elements she is holding is a problem, since goblin shamansism is supposed to be "all business", I don't think letting her sperak fluent kalimag is appropriate, since it is ralely spoken by anyone, and seeing her still being a teen, 4 fluent languages overall seem a lot, or even too many altogether.

Thanks for the constructive comments i was sure i was going to be torn apart. I just wanted to say firstly in regards to age wowpedia says that adulthood is at the age of 15 for a goblin so i wasn't intending rihanna to be a teen. As i get into the story i want to point out that as she learns the art of Shamanism she struggles to hold the line between taking and borrowing (yes a wording error when i say cast by the way). I am going to get into more detail about Rihanna's mother who has taken the traditional approach to shamanism and has the bond and mutual respect. Rihanna wants this and tries hard but her fiery and impatient nature often finds her losing her patience with it (which is why i think she connects more with the fire and air elements).

Also a wording mistake i should of put that all other languages except for goblin & zandali are sketchy at best. When i say arguing i more mean like bickering as she does not see the elements as "potential customers" and more like "friends" which often leads to her being denied when she calls upon them and having to go back with her tail between her legs later and be more humble when she calls to them. As i said she has a lot to learn and it shows with her relationships with the elements. I will be editing tho accordingly as i was tired when i wrote this and things don't make sense to me either a little. Thanks!

Nasad knew that you were coming, the elements they whisper to us of you" The goblin stopped for a moment closing her eyes and tilting her head back "They know you Rihazai, they know you seek them" She stood up slowly steadying herself with her staff and smiled at her daughter "We will teach you the way of the spirits daughter, but you will learn the old ways... not this new Shamanism that many of our kind practice" she shook her head and started walking towards a small clearing of trees where there were old stones set in a circle with her totems placed in the middle "If you could call them shaman at all".

Rihazai had found her mother Nasad Earthspeaker deep in the stranglethorn jungle with the help of an old troll who she had made friends with during her early years in Booty Bay. Nasad Earthspeaker was a goblin by birth but was a shaman by spirit and early in her life she set aside her goblin name and took up a new name given to her by the elements and embraced a life of balance and worship rather then a life of destruction and machines. She was now an older goblin with white hair that flowed down behind her back and her green skin was wrinkled but somehow was still a vibrant green unlike many goblins her age. Her blue eyes seemed to crackle every now and then, she wore an old faded brown robe that flowed to her feet which never had anything on them. Nasad carried an staff with her that had been carved from an old tree and she had many trinkets and items hanging from it and so it was very noisy as she walked, her totems were wooden carvings of each elemental spirt that had been carved by her own hand.

The older goblin sat on the ground in the middle of the circle where her totem were set, she patted the ground next to her gesturing for her daughter to sit next to her. Rihazai sat down on the ground and crossed her legs, looking over to her mother she frowned watching the older goblin running her hands along the ground through the grass and seemed to be talking but in a low pitch so it couldn't be heard by Rihazai. She looked over at her daughter and stopped her talking and smiled at her daughter "You have grown young one, we could tell that you were going to be one with the spirits from the moment we felt you inside us" she frowned a little "But your father he did not want it, tried to take the spirits away from me..." the older goblin closed her eyes and breathed deep calming herself.

"They tell me of your true name Rihazai" she took her hand "But you must ask them of it yourself... that is if you want to take your true name" she said letting go of her hand and placing in back on the ground. Rihazai had always thought about changing her name from her goblin name as she did not feel it fit her. "I am willing mother, teach me how to call to the spirits" she said softly "I want to learn my true name I want to be a shaman".

With the added clarifications, I have no more questions. And I didn't want to imply that Rihanna was not an adult, the teen was intended as literally in use. All I wanted to say is she is pretty young for 4 languages. Fluent orcish and goblin and rest shoddy is perfect.

Speaking of wording errors, I missed a few words in my post, (try to see those on a phone -.-) I never had any objection towards your description of the way you descirbe her dealings with the elements, in fact, I really like it. Your implication that a good amount of deals just don't work out at first implies you know more about Shamanism than many.

    Calling the Flame

Rihanna sat cross legged on the ground in front of a totem she had spent the last week or so crafting. It frustrated her to have to craft it she was never very good at these things but with a small axe she had found she was able to fashion a small totem that looked like the fire elementals she had seen in the various books and scriptures laying around booty bay. It was hollowed out in the middle as to hold the element she would be granted, she was unimpressed with her work however her mother had told her many times that it was fine and that the elements were not very picky about that kind of thing.

"Remember daughter" Nasad said almost whispering "You must feel the spirit inside, it harsh and unforgiving.. but a powerful ally it can be to us" the older shaman said with an excited tone to her voice; she always got that tone when she talked about the spirits. "It will grant you a powerful boon if you give yourself to it. Now call to them!" Nasad called out to her daughter.

Rihanna wasn't sure how to call to the spirits, her mother talked about doing it a lot but would refuse to tell her exactly what to do "every shaman find her own way to talk to them young one" she would always say as she dismissed the question. "Here goes" Rihanna said quietly to herself and closed her eyes "Spirits of fire, i seek you to grant me your power to aid me as a daughter of the elements" Rihanna peeked a little and saw nothing "I offer you my weapons, they are yours... i will help this earth heal and grow with them" nothing happened. Rihanna was losing her patience as she opened her eyes and glared at the totem curling her fists, trying to contain her temper. Her father mite of been right, maybe she was no good at anything and maybe she was just going to be a goods dealer for her life. No that wouldn't be her place in life Rihanna thought to herself feeling a burning rush of temper inside her, she straightened her back and glared even harder at the totem "Okay listen here spirit, i have been out in this jungle for who knows how long" she shouted at the totem much to Nasad's displeasure. "I carved this out of a tree stump and i have the creative talent of a kobold! but i did it because I am devoted to becoming a follower of the spirits" Rihanna continued to shout, by now she had jumped to her feet and had not noticed the dull flame beginning to flicker inside the totem.

"I can do so much for you, if you just trust that i will never take from you or ask for more then what i need" she kept going, she could her mother saying something in the background but she didn't care she wasn't done ranting "I can do this without you spirits i have the strength but i know i could do so much more good if you just... trust. m..." Rihanna was cut short by a blast of fire that knocked her over and filled her with a burning rush of what she felt was power, strength and yet a controlled rage that seemed to burn inside her and she know it would keep her strong as long as she kept control of it.

"I feel it mother and i heard the voice of fire, it was everywhere and it was warm and it told me" she smiled to herself "It told me that i would forever have the spirit of fire beside me as long as I stayed true to my promise" Rihanna smiled and turned to her mother who looked bewildered and shook her head "Never we ever seen some one lose patience with the spirits like that and be granted their boon" Nasad shook her head "Fire respects the flame you already carried inside" Nasad turned motioning for her daughter to follow her back to their home. "You be careful daughter, the other spirits not look so kindly on that temper" she said over her shoulder as Rihanna trailed behind her, her totem hanging proudly over her shoulder "Air is next, it stirs that fire... best learn to keep it in control of your face losing it and the air as well" Nasad warned to her daughter "You must learn balance or lose yourself to the dark arts" she said as she continued to walk towards their home, she was proud of her daughter but feared that her temper might lead her away from all but fire and come to embrace other easier to master and darker magic.

I'm loving your Bio, and your RP in our thread!
That said, while I appreciate 15 may be "Adult" for a goblin, it still seems young to have a "Vast" shamanistic Power, unless shamanism is a power that you can literally "turn on" and BOOM you're strong? I always figured like most things Shamanism would be something you would take a bit of time to get good at... However I could be wrong.

I wouldn't say that she has vast shamanistic powers. Let me try to explain each element a bit more for you Fire: Rihanna as i tried to always make out here was always ment to be a shaman and the element of fire has always been with her and it was easy for her to take it up as she exhibits many of the qualities of the fire spirits desire, ambition, strength (she is naturally strong, not something i have gotten into yet but i will explain in the wind part when i write it) and lastly a burning temper. When i say she feels strong i don't necessarily mean a physical strength. Air is a bit harder and though there is a few qualities she shares with it she will have to try more then a few times to try to summon it and only in a time of dire need will it finally grant her it's power. Water, earth and Rihanna is like oil and chocolate milk... just doesn't mix well. Not only will she fail to summon these elements alot even after she masters them but they will clash and sometimes refuse when she calls them as she sometimes is a bit to brash and uncaring when she calls them. I hope this make sense

At palapwn, that sounds like a good idea to me.
