Low FPS in BWE 2?

My central argument remains steadfast. All you have to do, children, is tell me why boasting is appropriate. Discussion is incorrect, that's not discussion, NOR is the way the boasting was said appropriate. My thread WAS about the lag in the BWE 1. I asked if it was going to be better in BWE 2, if you're still following, all of these things are perfectly fine things to be asking. I then called you all 'Fine folks' which, well, that's clearly not the case. I then when onto say if you were going to boast then I don't care for it because it's not appropriate. Then some dubstep mother fucker comes in and boasts with no constructive thought whatsoever. Then, when I reply to him clearly explaining what he has done wrong I get the same old people defending him with used up old arguments and memes. I then try to prove that infact I'm in the right, which then leads me into an infinite loop trying to converse with idiots because they just reply 'Man, chill', or similar.

Wooo! Here's a thread going places.

On... 'topic', they are optimizing the client. It was/is in their official forums in the known issue thread. It was mentioned by a lot of people that they had problems in this beta and they are working to fix it. It should be fixed by the time the game comes out, earlier than that is speculation because that's what a BETA is for.
Also, not all the players that had no problems were in very powerful machines. I'm on a completely medium range laptop and I did fine.
It depends on a lot of factors and no one but Anet can give you a time frame more detailed than 'RELEASE'.

Oh, and by the way a friend has my old Kentsfield 2.4? Core 2 Quad, 9600 GT, and 8 gigs of ram and he was able to play on max setting except shadows and maybe AA.

Not bad. I'm hoping they get the balance between CPU and GPU dependency correct, otherwise I'll shed a tear when I'm round friend's houses.

That kind of info could actually be helpful for you.
But tbh, your processor is 3 years old tech, and when it was released it was labeled as the "first sub-$100 quad-core CPU".
Surely GW2 will get optimized, but I would guess it still will be demanding game for the CPU, MMOs tend to and because of that comparing it to Crysis is kind of pointless. What exactly are you expecting when the game is optimized better? If you are having laggy experience at low settings now, you shouldnt expect to play on high settings without lag later.

I'm really struggling to grasp why someone saying they didn't have any problems with the BWE means they're showing their 'e-peen' and boasting. Can somebody explain it to me?

Its simple, if you have a shitty CPU then the last beta was probably a lagfest. This is a well known issue as Arenanet has acknowledged themselves, and something they aim to sort out for the next BWE (i think i read they ran some debug mode), and otherwise sorted for release. The reason why is well known, so they can work on a fix.

It's worth noting that 'max settings' were different depending on your setup (apparently).
