    Need CPU cooler

    Hi,

I'm looking for a CPU cooler to fit in a Zalman 501 (HTPC case) on an mATX board for an A8-3870k CPU. Looking at this CPU to OC but sceptical about the stock cooler.

    Thanks.

Edit: a 6870 gpu will be used as well.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I have found 2 coolers the only issue is if they obstruct the GPU on the MB.

Is there a legitimate reason why you want to overclock a HTPC? With such a small case with such poor airflow, I don't think it's a wise idea good cooler or not.

Best option though if you absolutely have to is one of Corsair's closed loop liquid coolers like the h60. That way you can at least keep most of the heat out.

No reason tbh, just curious if I can.

Plus the A8 runs pretty cool at stock compared to intel from what I have read (40c max at stock, 55c OC @ 3.6ghz).

The zalman 501 comes with 2x80mm fans and I can add a further 2x120mm which should provide good cooling.

i would have to agree with both statements..it doesnt really make sense, but if you need one then the closed loop cooler would be a decent choice because the size of the case. Doesnt really equal similiarly priced air coolers, but those coolers wont fit.
