No you didn't because Athene did it in about 6 hours and he did it by a dubious method. If I remember, everyone else who got liek the top 10 times (and I'm really thinking back now) did it in 9-11 hours ish. Or it could have been 19-21, I really can't remember, I just remember 9s and 1s, but I'm leaning towards 9-11/12 hours tbh.

And if you can be bothered to lie over such a pathetic matter, I can be certain you were not one of those top people.

If experience stays as it is in beta, you'll be able to hit 90 in much less time than 24 hours.

Oh? That's quite a statement from someone supposedly "testing" in the beta...So you haven't noticed them decreasing xp rewards from quests with every new beta build? They may decide to increase how much xp per quest at release but with how many new quests show up with each new build and the fact they keep polishing those quests with each new build, it would be very foolish to assume that leveling at release will be as quick as it is in the beta.

I got Server first Hunter in 15 hours, after 55 mins stuck at loading screen and my BRD farm party falling apart. After i rushed to Twilight Highlands and ran out of Quests there at 95% and after the hunter "behind" me asking me if i would drop out for him...

You need Energy drinks, Food and to know when RP is to use time for toilet breaks. I had Pots, Foods and Enchantment scrolls ready for the extra edge, Kripp has a good guide about it you should look in to it.

All this for what? to get some achievement to show how proud you are for racing to level 90 and not enjoy leveling, not worth it imo, i thought blizzard were getting rid of these achievements -.-

As other people have said, the beta is the way to practice, you can test different paths on different chars, learn what quests to skip and what areas to skip.

But remember no mater how well-prepared you are it will still be up till Blizzard and there loginservers if you will even get the chance to go for server first. When Cataclysm hit most of my guild had preinstalled the digitaldownload and was ready to start the second things went live. We were all together on vent talking..... the first guy got passed the loginservers after maybe 20 min of constantly trying to login. I got in after about one hour and the last guy in my guild didn't get in untill after more then 2 hours.

If you're competitor manages to start playing when it goes live and you have to wait for two hours he will most likely win no mather how well-prepared you are.

No you didn't, Athene was the only person that did the Naga tagging method in Twilight Highlands, and he had about 20+ or so people helping him, in which he got the collaborative world 1st 85 in about 6 hours. You did not get realm first 85 warlock in 6.5 hours.

u really think athene was the only one who did that? But yeh, Athene did it in 5 hours and 13 minutes. And the one that came next 7 hour 34 minutes. Assuming they started at release night

80-85 was on average around 10 hours (guesstimate). Fastest around 6hrs. I think people on my realm got it within 12 hours or something (Aldonn from Ensidia was first on TM). Oh and Athene fastest with giant help.

Took me around 10hours ish to 85 without giant help and had to sleep for few hours :3

Some people like having personal achievements, they like to challenge themselves and others. It doesn't matter if you don't think it's worth it, aslong as others think it is.

Thanks everyone for the responses so far ...I know I have a little advantage because of full heroic gear , but as having a MS tank grinding high yielding xp mobs might be the way to go ...xp /hour compared to questing xp/hour.

I think it is neat to see who gets server first and if it is anyone I know. I probibly could try to go for server first if I wanted to but I probibly will not as I am especially excited for the storyline and lore in the new expansion. If I were to go for server first or to hit level 90 in the first days or week of the expansion I would try and grind dungeons or high-level mobs with my mates, then once I hit level 90 I would go back through the zones and all of the quests!

It's not just being able to sit at your computer the longest, or knowing the pandaland quests. There's a science to questing efficiently and quickly, and I suggest you get practicing.

Not exactly true, look at cata. a lot of levelers aiming for realm firsts did it in what 9hours?
if you can skip the first zone rush, your really kinda safe

it really depends on what server you're playing on... and if you just want class first 90 or just first 90 in general...

i played on a pretty high pop server and i was able to get server first warlock without staying up for a day straight... i even went to class to take one of my finals and took a nap for 3 hrs afterwards and still got it

Wow sooo many server firsts in similar times to Athene on one thread?!?! Amazing!!!
OP - if you really want to try you need to plan simple as, look at what athene did 'forscience' and try and rope a few friends in to help, also watch his world first 80 vid to see the amount of supplies he had equipt in his bags and what you'll need.
I seem to remember him saying that the heirloom items give a boost for the first (80-81) perhaps they'll help again (helm&cloak) then as a few people have said already get into the beta and find an area that gives good xp and has a high respawn rate - apparently I've read jade forest is good...and the mob tag away!!!

awkward moment, you wont need 24hrs to do 85-90.
On beta atm normally questing and crap you can get 85-88 in like 8ish hrs. maybe 7ish. Thats not including if you knew where to go, tried for it, flasks, pots etc.
