Deleted Characters and Account wide achievements

As I have a few toons that I no longer play but haven't deleted because they have a rare mount, super hard FoS, etc, etc.. Do you believe that we will be able to delete these characters safely in MoP and keep our rewards or will they be taken away once the "Earned by:" character no longer exists?

If you've noticed how it works in guild achievements, if someone leaves your guild, any achievement that they were able to earn will stay (Like a certain class in Guild Gladiators). So I would guess it would work like that for ACHIEVEMENTS (you would be able to safely delete the toon, keeping whatever achievements they earned).

But as for mounts, I'm not even going to waste your time with a guess. Actually I take that back. On beta, I believe you have to actually log onto a toon for it to update your account-wide mounts. So by deleting a toon, it might not update which mounts you actually have access to? Just a guess though.
