    Your GW2 Keybindings!

    I've noticed a new trend beginning in "The One Thread" so why not dedicate a thread to this discussion overall? Maybe this will help people think of different/better ways to bind their keys to make things easier.

    For me, I use the Razer Naga. I've used it with WoW, with CoH, with LoL, with SC2... with every game I ever play. As such, I keep a unified set-up for my Naga keypad that simply inputs the 1 through = row on my keyboard. (so basically it actually inputs 1-12). Normally I use modifier keys, so hopefully that's added to GW2 in the next beta.

    My binds, with the Naga in mind:
    Movement: Default WASD + QE
    1-0: Default 1-0 (used with Naga obviously)
    Dodge: mouse4
    Weapon swap: mouse5
    F1-F4 profession keys: Rebound to Z through V
    Swim down: Shift key (Was originally unassigned)

    So I didn't do anything too special.

    I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

    Seeing as I'm still running a pathetic 2 button mouse (might look into a 4 button for this game), AD = strafe (no need for keyboard turning) and that opened up Q and E for my dodge/heal.

    Z-V will probably be my utility spells, and my profession mechanics to Shift1-4 as soon as the modifiers go live (hopefully next BWE).

    Hah! Good Call. Posting again then.

    Here were my binds for GW2 BWE

    On my Naga:
    Mouse Button 5 : Dodge
    Mouse Button 4 : Weapon Swap
    Num 1 : Weapon Skill 1
    Num 2 : Weapon Skill 2
    Num 3 : Weapon Skill 3
    Num 4 : Weapon Skill 4
    Num 5 : Weapon Skill 5

    On my Keyboard:
    C : Self Heal
    Q : Utility Skill 1
    E : Utility Skill 2
    R : Utility Skill 3
    Z : Elite Skill
    1, 2, 3, 4 : Class Skills
    WASD :Strafe Left; Back Pedal; Strafe Right; Forward.

    I tried to balance tasks on both of my hands so one isn't doing more than another. Movement of the camera is the task equivalent to movement for me.

    Double tap: Dodge
    §: Weapon Swap (liked this bind a lot actually)
    Num 1 : Heal
    Num 2: Utility Skill 1
    Num 3: Utility Skill 2
    Num 4: Utility Skill 3
    Num 5: Elite Skill
    1-5: Weaponskill 1-5
    QERT: Class Skills
    WASD: Moving (strafing)

    Will be using my Naga more and more probably when I get to know which skills that need to be used asap and which who're just like basic.

    I mapped 0-9 to the num pad.
    Profession mechanics mapped to the arrow keys (just to the left of the num pad).
    Everything else is default.

    You know, I might have to end up binding shift to swim down as well. I'm not sure though, I actually forgot all about underwater combat during the BWE and didn't even touch it.

    1-10 normal on my naga
    WASD for movement (might set AD for strafing)
    Dodge is on R (might become button four or five)
    Weapon slot is still ` or ~ (probably set to four or five on my mouse next bwe)
    F1-F4 skills probably set to a modifier on my naga once they allow it (probably 1-4)
    Not sure what I want my swim down to be, probably leave it on X
    <-- That is otterly adorable.

    I was playing an Elemnatlist

    ~ Fire Atunement
    V Earth Atunement
    C Water Atunement
    X Air Atunement
    1-4 weapon skill (5 is uncofortable for me on the keyboard)
    Q fifth weapon skill
    G activation key
    F Heal
    Z Elite
    E,Rand T utility (Strangely enough I find T more comfortable than 5)
    W forward
    A and D strafe
    S and doubletap for Dodge - if you don't have a button to back peddle you don't back peddle, ever .
    B and I for Bags

    Naga normally 1 to 0.
    I used the WSAD for forward, backwards and strafing.
    Mouse button 4 - Weapon Swap.
    Mouse button 5 - Dodge

    I left the profession mechanics on the F1-F4 keys and that's probably why I kept forgetting about them (didn't play elementalist), but I'm sure next beta I'll change the prof. mechanics to 1 to 4 on my keyboard.

    People are going to find my keybinds weird. Because I'm traveling a lot, and going back and forth between laptop and desktop; I have one mouse, and it's a trackball mouse... The Logitech m570. And yes, it's wireless, for convenience. I've been using trackballs for just around 10+ years now, so it's what's comfortable and what works for me, I can't even use a standard mouse style anymore.

    That said my keybinds in the GW2 beta were...
    1-6 as they were
    Q/W were the 7/8 skills respectively
    T was the 9 skill
    F1-F4 as is.
    F5 is the elite skill.
    ~ was the weapon switching, default I believe
    Mouse button 4 was my dodge
    E/R was strafe left/right
    D was move back.
    I believe X was the 180 camera, but I'm thinking I may change that to easier access by my thumb for next beta/live; possibly even on the mouse wheel, needs testing.

    I think that's all of them. I have large hands and since my laptop and desktop have roughly the same size keyboards, I keep all my keybinds the same across both systems. Keybinds are based solely on what people are comfortable with. And I've noticed a number of gamers can't believe that I play games with my setup and stay relatively competitive.

    I might end up binding "sheathe/draw weapons" to alt for the hell of it.

    The only things I changed was dodge to mouse button 4 and autorun to mouse button 5. The naga took care of the rest.

    I played a guardian and a necro for the event, and the necro only has 1 F key ability. The guardian has 3 and my keyboard has F keys in sets of 3, so I just left the F keys the way they were.

    WASD - Movement/Strafe
    Q - Elite
    ERT - Utility
    1-5 - Weapon Skills
    G - Heal
    F1-F4 - Class abilities
    Mouse 4 - Dodge
    Mouse 5 - Swap

    I might mess with Mouse 3, 6, 7 next beta to see if something feels better bound to them. My bindings certainly aren't final.

    WASD - Move
    Mouse Wheel Tilt - Strafe
    1-5 - Skills
    QERYX - Skills
    CAPS - Dodge (Rebound through Registry-Edit)
    Mouse 4 or 5 - Enter/Activate/Interact

    Aaaand... If I had enough time and skill I would build a custom mouse, with a little joystick instead of mouse 4.

    Mouse Joystick - Move
    Pushing Mouse Joystick - Dodge
    Mouse Wheel Tilt - Strafe
    1-5, Q-T - Skills
    Sing like no one is listening - Love like you've never been hurt
    Dance like no one is watching - Masturbate like no one else is on the bus

    ASDFG - Weapon skills
    QWERT - Utility skills and Elite
    ZXCV - Profession skills
    ~ - Weapon swap
    1 - Interact
    2 - Auto-run

    LMB+RMB - Move forwards/Steer
    MB4 - Strafe Left
    MB5 - Strafe Right
    LShift - Dodge

    For some reason, the client couldn't register my Scroll Wheel button (MB3) :/

    I use QERZXC1234 as my abilities, quicker access. Don't need Q and E for strafe, because you can get the same effect with A or D with the right mouse button held down.

    I don't have a Naga, but this setup enables me to use any ability on the move all the time (especially circle-strafing).
    I use my left index, middle, and ring fingers for movements, with my left elbow slightly forward, closer to my keyboard than usual.

    - Left index finger (resting on the I key) manages:
    I = strafe right
    O = interact
    9 = character
    0 = inventory

    - Left middle finger (resting on the 8 key) manages:
    8 = forward
    U = backward
    7 = autorun

    - Left ring finger (resting on the Y key) manages:
    Y = strafe left
    6 = map

    - Left thumb (resting on the , key) manages:
    , = 1
    M = 2
    K = 3
    L = 4
    . = 5
    Right ALT = heal
    N = 7
    H = 8
    J = 9
    SPACE = jump

    - Left little finger (resting on the F key) manages:
    F = dodge
    Z = elite
    R = F1
    4 = F2
    5 = F3
    T = F4

    - Right thumb manages:
    Mouse 5 = weapon swap
    Mouse 4 = push to talk for VoIP
