ah thank you
i5 2500K remains the king of gaming when you factor in it's price, overclockability (temperatures) and raw performance.
As for a motherboard, look no further than ASRock Z77 Extreme4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157293
For $140 I can't really find a better motherboard that beats this on features (or looks :P).

I have a gtx460 video card i dont see a 2.0x16 slot on there
What do you mean DJ? The board Xuvial linked is fine. If you want to save $20 you can pickup the Asrock z77 Pro3. It won't allow for Dual GPU's in the future but that doesn't matter if you don't need it.
so my gtx 2.0x16 can fit in a PCI Express 3.0 x16 im confused with the new mobos lol sorry

ah thank you so much. looks like ill be getting that mobo and the i5 ivy bridge
PCI 2.0 has less bandwidth than PCI 3.0. Any mis-matching of the interface (be it the motherboard slot or the card itself) will result in lower bandwidth (PCI 2.0 bandwidth in this case), however the components will still work.
Currently PCI "3.0" is all marketing as nothing takes up all the bandwidth. Now its said that maybe running crossfire 7970s or 680 sli in PCI 3.0x8 (or is it PCI 2.0x8? can't remember) may fill up, but you'll be just fine in your situation.
