Raids that made you go ''WOW''

    My choices :

Naxxramas ( Wotlk version) : Haven't played Vanilla, and when Tbc came out i was a total noob so i never experienced the original. Still playing it in Wotlk was just awesome. A citadel full of undead soldiers, what's not to like.

Sunwell Plateau : Defeating one of the most powerful demons in Warcraft certainly is something.

Karazhan : Had a Twilight Zone atmosphere

Only two within my entire career that actually made me well ''WoW'' as you've stated and that's the following

    - AQ40 Simply because of how large the area was and the atmosphere of the place being a giant bug hive and all
    - Uldaur, There's really nothing to be said of how ''WoW'' this is I'm sure users can cover that for me.

    Karazhan and Ulduar.
    Main toon: Priest
Alts: Rogue, Druid and Paladin plus many, many more.

Naxxramas, since it was my first raid i actually understood (heh).
ICC is in my opinion the best raid ever, both looks and story wise.

The Black Temple, Ahn'Qiraj, Icecrown Citadel, Naxxramas, Karazhan, Sunwell Plateau and Ulduar are by far my favourite raids in WoW. Not just based on how they look, but the mechanics and bosses lined up very well with what I find enjoyable in a raiding environment. I suppose it helps that I'm keen on the lore surrounding those raids, as well. Oh, and the music is pretty intense too - though I'm of the belief that the vast majority of music in WoW is brilliant.

Only Kara even though I first experienced in WotLK since I was to new during BC at the time. Other raids have some great mechanics and bosses, but Kara is really cool and I was like....."Whoa". BRD, even though not a raid, was awe-inspiring due to the sheer enormity of it.

Karazhan and Ulduar because of their size and sofisticated boss tactics, Ulduar is the shining one here. There are a lot of other factors like music and environment that makes Ulduar really really shine besides the other so it is my best raid by far, and Karazhan is the second because it was one of the first raids I did and it was really amazing, especially as it only was the first raid of the expansion as well.

I also liked Icecrown Citadel quite well. However I hated it at the same time because we ran both 25 and 10 mans and the 10 man version was just plain boring to run just for specific gear, also I mostly had to respec dps instead of healer and dps is really boring.
I never raided Sunwell when it was current, I was new in WoW and raided in Karazhan and the other T4 raids at the time(Back in TBC you could raid the easiest raids while the hardcores raided the last raids of the expansion and still have fun, hear that you casuals that request to see every boss 1 week after raid release, greedy bastards.)
But if I had been a hardcore raider in TBC instead of the start of WotlK I am sure that I would've enjoyed BT and Sunwell just as much as ICC or even more.

For me it has to be Karazhan and Ulduar: I STILL get goosebumps when I start the Algalon encounter.

The bit of Karazhan when you climb up all the ramps past Curator on the way to Aran & Chess always made me feel like I was inside an Escher painting.

AQ40 (Even though ragnaro`s lair, and BWL was more fun less dull and more impressive) back then it was such a breath of fresh air, and so original to see a huge open air hive.
    Ulduar
    Naxxramas
Kharazan was just incredible..perfect...the dificulty ..the mechanics..the sound...
    icc to an extent..

    In order:

    1. Ulduar/Karazhan tied.
    2. Black Temple
    3. Most of the larger ones tied.

Not one whole instance, just parts of 'em

    - Karazhan opera house, for the sheer madness of having a room like that in WoW
    - First time walking out from the SSC elevator, being able to see almost whole instance in the big cavern
    - Last phase of Kael'thas fight with the room blowing up and gravity fail

After that nothing really managed to "wow" me in any instances.

In all honesty, Blackwing Descent. T11 was my first max level character, so BWD being my first raid zone naturally makes it #1.

In terms of atmosphere, Ulduar, Kara, and Black Temple make me go wow when I do transmog runs. They undoubtedly would be at the top of the list if I raided them as current content.

    ICC, Ulduar and Karazhan mainly.

AQ40 by a mile, then maybe Karazhan, Ulduar and SSC.

I admit that Molten Core made me "WOW"! Simply because it was the first time with 40 man action. I did experience also the time of UBRS and LBRS when you could do them as a 15 man raid (we build our guild and first raid in 2005 there). Today I am one who says "Ok, it was a cave with 5 mob types and every second boss was a snake. With adds"

That is how things develop from experiencing something for the first time - and then doing if for a year every week...

There have been many raids where the setting, the detail, the encounters made me go "WOW" - but conceptually I am a sheep and have to agree with the ones that loved Ulduar and Karazhan the most. Simply amazing. Those I did for a year and on several characters and never tired.

Raids that made me go "WOW":

MC, my first time raiding, the whole place was impressive. but when Rag popped up was an awesome moment.
BWL, the first time dealing with Nefarian in dragon form, then rezzing all those adds in the middle of the fight.
(Ok, maybe that's more of an 'oh crap' moment.)

Serpentshrine, the bridge to Lady Vash rising up out of the water, and then that endless battle on her terrace.
Tempest Keep - the Eye, both the first time seeing Al'ar, and the whole Kael'thas encounter that just builds and builds.
Hyjal Summit, the fight with Archimonde

Ulduar, Flame Leviathian, the first time Kologarn rose up in front of the raid, basically all the keeper fights, Vexax, Yogg, and the entire Algalon fight.
ICC, seeing Marrowgar for the first time, the intensity of the Lanathel fight, doing Sindragosa on 25man, taking down Arthas

Dragon Soul should have had a couple of 'wow' moments, but didn't. Not even the Spine, which I was really looking forward to.

Stepping into ICC for the first time and seeing Marrowgar at the far end of the hall was pretty epic for me
