What do you think of high school reunions?

I find them funny. I was extremly afraid to attend mine, because... well.. I was one of the biggest losers in our class and obviously I did not like cool kids that were making fun of me back in a day. Why meet them, right?

Luckily, I changed my mind. It was funny to find out that the cool kids are old fat stinky factory workers without any girl around or in best case they had some ugly whore next to them. They looked broke, without any future. Suddenly I felt a bit warm inside. I knew I'm doing pretty good, but I did not expect cool kids to fail in life so much. They had everything, money, girls, cars and other cool stuff. I couldn't get a girl at high school no matter what. It's funny, I don't have any problem finding girlfriend anymore and girls are actually going after me. Justice won once again.

Moral of this story? Kids, don't do drugs, don't party and don't drink too much. Life is too long to fuck it up at high school.

School was the most miserable time of my life, i would never go to a reunion. It would be nice to rub my success in their faces though.

That's usually how it is. The popular/cool kids typically "fall from grace" so to speak, with 3+ children, overweight/bald, horrible jobs. They get this false sense of awesomeness in school and don't really know how to function when they aren't "the shit" out in the real world. Some make it out all right, but a lot seem not to. Although, this isn't to say that the nerds/outcasts become super successful, because that's not always true.

We had a 10 year reunion back in 2009, with invites going out over facebook. I never got one because I didn't have a facebook at the time. Besides that, I didn't feel like paying $25 to see people I used to see in the classroom. I just friended a large number on Facebook and can see how things turned out. From the ones that I have seen recent pics of, they all look very similar to what they did 13 years ago. Some of the stuck up cunts that thought they were hot shit got rather large, while a few of the larger people (male and female) lost quite a bit of weight. Some I don't recognize.

That's exactly why such reunions SUCK. Insecure people like you try to boost their long beaten ego, instead of being happy to see their old friends again. But yeah, looks like you didn't have friends back then, did you?

Personally, I haven't attended any school reunions, no matter how I'd like to see some old faces/ex-girlfriends again. My academic degrees and proffesional carrer are more than enough to boast if I want to but that's what the point is; I don't want to compare myself with them but, instead, grab some of them, go out for some beers and have fun.

I was excited to go back to mine as a few of my bullies were out on parole and I just happened to be in town when it would have gone down. However, the organizers after MONTHS of work setting it up sent out an email saying "We're pleased to invite all 2000 alumni to the park for a reunion. Please bring beer and hotdogs." Next to nobody responded saying such an event was not worth the trip. I sent an email back saying we should have it at the restaurant we had the prom at and everyone can chip in like we did back then. I got a response that with so many of my classmates on welfare and/or unemployed a ticket based gathering would not be feasible so we did not end up having a 10 year reunion.

High School wasn't a pleasant experience for everyone bro. Not everyone had or has a luxury of friends, or people they would be happy to see again from HS. The only reason you would like to see the people who made your life miserable, is if you know you're doing awesome and you can make them feel like shit like they made you feel back in the day. Especially if they turned into losers. Seems like in OPs case, they did.

It's always nice to see old buddies again and all, but it's also nice to gloat a little and be prideful of your success and the misfortune of your ex tormentors.

Btw, I'm 19 so I haven't had the pleasure of going to a reunion. Doubt I will anyway. I never had to endure getting fucked with but I've seen it happen to guys/girls and have seen how depressed it makes them (I went to JFK high in Paterson NJ which was a gang influenced school). So I can understand wanting to boast about their success to the peeps that did shit to them.

My 10-yr. reunion is coming up. I doubt I'll go for a couple reasons:

1) I've stayed in touch with the high school friends with whom I wanted to stay in touch.
2) I don't see the point in trying to impress a bunch of people who, to me, are going to be strangers at this point.

Till High School, i was bullied constantly. 8 years bullied by bunch of shit heads. I was terrified of High School at first, but when i got there i met decent people who treated me as a human being for once. If there is a reunion i would definitely go. What i hated in HS were the teachers. Horrible, horrible teachers.
