What will happen to our JP/VP when MoP launches?

A few of my characters are JP/VP capped. I'm curious if anyone has any ideas as to what will happen to them when MoP launches? Will they be automatically reset to 0? Will the VP be converted to JP? I'm just wondering if I should spend them while I have them or if I should save them for MoP, should that even be possible. Thanks.

Likely a VP to JP conversion will occur until you are JP capped, and the rest of your VP will be converted to gold.

    Thanks for the input.

I think they used 47 silver per JP/HP over the cap in previous cases (switch from WotLK to Cata currencies, releases of new tiers). Valor Points and Conquest Points will turn into Justice and Honor, which will both get a 4k cap. Anything over that cap will be converted into gold (at 47 silver per point). This basically means that if you can sell a BoE Valor item on the AH for more than 50 silver per point, do so. Otherwise it's better to just hold onto them.

If you level by questing mostly, you want to aim at as close to 4k Justice/Honor as possible. Being able to buy 2-3 items the minute you reach level 90 is a pretty nice deal. If you do some random dungeons while levelling (or random BGs), you'll get extra JP/HP from those. If you are at the 4k cap though, you won't get anything for them, not even the 47 silver per point.

Pretty sure new expacs are a clean wipe. Everything converted down to money. So you can't be capped and buy a few pieces when you hit 90.

Ankram, if that happens it'll be in 5.0.1 and you'll be able to farm back up to cap. but most likely VP will be converted to JP, and everything over the 4k cap will be converted to 47silver per point

They will either be turned into silver or they will let you keep them and the MoP dungeons and raids will ahve completely different badges or whatever you want to all them. You will not be able to stock pile points now to jump into MoP badge loot right as you hit 90.

Unless they make it so you cannot buy lvl 90 gear with JP there is no way they will let you roll some over or just down grade your VP to it. They will do like they have and just give you money for it all or do like they did from BC to wrath let you keep it since it only buys stuff from the last expansion.

Personally I'll be changing all mine in for items that can be sold. Reason being is blizzard will most likely create yet another new currency as they always do. You would have to ask a Beta player on that once they can reach level cap. But if memory serves me right, I remember blizzard saying you were no longer be able to purchase as high up gear as we currently are allowed to do.

One of two things, since, honestly, nobody knows yet. The thing is, VP/JP are VERY different going from Cata-> MoP, versues going from Wrath->Cata. They have a completely different function, so the system of conversion may be different

    Option 1
JP stays as is, VP converted to JP up to a cap of 4000 (or whatever Blizzard decides is the new JP cap). All other excess JP converted to gold at unknown rate.

    Option 2
JP and VP are wiped entirely, converted to gold at unknown rate.

I really need to start selling VP gear.... Having 15,000vp sitting around is silly.

    JP = 4k total cap
VP = 1k weekly, no total cap

spend them now and sell the gear or send to alts.

Yup. I'm sure they confirmed that for as long as the Justice & Valor Points (Along with Honour & Conquest) remains, each Tier & Expansion will see all the Points either entirely converted into gold (New Expansion) or any above the Justice Point Cap converted into Gold (New Tier)

Pretty sure it's a case of
JP and Honor converted to gold at a 1:1 ratio.
VP and Conquest converted to gold at a 1:2 ratio.
(The ratios might not be what they do, but you get the deal.)

The last time you could cap to 4k.

    WotLK/Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12):

All [Emblems of Frost] and [Emblems of Triumph] have been converted to new Justice Points.
Any dungeon or raid which awarded these emblems will reward Justice Points instead. Anything below Emblems of Triumph, including badges from The Burning Crusade dungeon and raid content, have been converted into gold and sent to players via the in-game mail system.
Any bosses players defeat that are level-appropriate to them award Justice Points.
All items that previously cost emblems or badges of any type now cost Justice Points.
So I'm fairly you will be able to do it again. You can buy a couple of blues as soon as you reach 90, it's not like it's a big deal... So don't worry, Blizzard wont go to any extent to difficult it.
