Unhappy help - ati driver causing boot up/freeze issues?

i updated my catalyst drivers at first it was working ok for a bit, but when the diablo 3 servers went down, my pc then froze. now i can't even boot up, i get stuck on the windows logo.

i tested uninstalling my video card drivers and my pc works fine when i have the drivers uninstalled, but when i update them the issue immediately starts again so i know for a fact this is a video card driver issue.

i'm using an ati radeon 5900 hd btw.

i'm typing from my laptop, any help would be appreciated.

    i wanna go back to d3 (((

I suppose you installed the newest 12.4 Catalyst drivers?
Several people have reported strange stability issues on those drivers especially with Crossfire enabled, you might want to go back to 12.3 version - seemed to have helped for some people.

    I'm guessing you're running HD5970 since there's no "5900"?

Not trying to revive a dead thread, but did you ever find a solution for this?
