Heya folks, first of all let me get this out of the way. I'm incredibly new to computers and parts and things like that, so please bare with me if I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.
That being said, I need to upgrade my graphics card so I can play D3.. Now some of the gfx cards I've looked at will require me to upgrade my PSU (apparently?) So, my question to you guys and girls is, when it comes to PSU's, is there a situation where xxx psu wont fit xxx pc as they are different sizes/not compatible parts/don't get on with each other?
Is there any way that I can find this out and then work out which PSU would fit my pc? Without having to take my pc down to my local PC shop which would undoubtedly cost me more money?
Any helps you folks can offer would be greatly appreciated.
As long as the PSU is said to fit with your case form factor you should be ok.
The most common form factor is ATX, it's pretty much used in all tower cases.
Fatalwario, I've got an Advent PC, I can provide more info if you think it'd help, just tell me where to look.. (I'm sorry, I really am fairly hopeless :<)
Strife242, thanks for your reply, but i don't fully understand what you're meaning. Sorry :<
Also mods, thanks for moving this thread, apologies for posting it in the wrong forum!
