Well tbh I give 1 shit(s) about Diablo 3 and that's world firsts, I think the running threw the trash packs and summoning is just kinda trashy. So I agree (Not that Athene wouldn't do it if he knew he could)

well it makes sence tbh im playing though hell atm and the bosses are FAR easier then most of the trash its super annoying getting oneshot by unavoidable stuff

I don't consider anyone being world first on anything until they actually clear the dungeons and such completely. Avoiding huge chunks of the game just to get to the bosses and kill them is not what I consider hardcore. Finding solutions to obsticles is one thing, avoiding them is another.

Let's pretend you enjoy watching others compete... and you find it boring because they aren't actually playing the game (the way you want them to).

It's their game, money and time, let them be. If you wanna see world first i cleared everything, looted everything, unlocked every inch of the map type of shit then you can do it yourself, find someone already doing it or just wait till someone does... but IMO I rather just do it myself.

In wow guilds are skipping trash if at all possible no top guild in their right mind would be doing trash if it's possible to skip. And to me it's fine im not trying to get worldfirst of anything i just enjoy the 2 playstyles clashing and seeing who will get the better end. Their big problem is going to be loot since they are skipping so many monsters they got a lower chance of getting good items.. But whatever floats your boat.

I think people that say shit like this are just jealous they do not have the time/resources to play the way these guys do. I know I certainly am. I wish my life was as simple as sit back and play video games for 16 hours a day and basically get paid to do so and have a huge audience. Would be really really nice. That's not the way it is though. However, instead of being so jealous I find reasons to make it sound stupid I just watch and wish and then play when I can at my own pace.

Oh Oh Oh, and then you will complain that all the monsters look the same. And then that the grass used in Act 1 shows up in other outside places too!

Think of it this way. It's a game based on a fictional battle between heaven and hell. Those evil nasty things in hell would have to power to bring demonic things back from being slain. If they can do it once... they can surely do it again.

Now that I have said my piece to you... I can move on to something actually worth talking about. Which isn't this "world first" race... but that's what this thread is about so here we go.

It's great that people are going through the content at this rate. Congratz to them. It's also wonderful that they have a following. People of the world, rejoice in knowing that All of Diablo 3 will be defeated within a week of it being out... or something like that. Then there are others, myself included, that don't really care about this race and are playing the game at our own paces. Congratz to them for experiencing the game the way they choose to.

Huzzahs for all. Everyone is getting what they want out of Diablo 3... and that is all that matters in the end.

Anyone using the term exploit isn't doing it right, I'll give you that... But honestly, the summon feature should only be used at the entrance to the dungeon like in WoW so that people actually have to deal with the baddies that are "guarding" the boss.

Nah I disagree. In WoW you're forced to do trash because trash is just a nuisance and you'd skip it if you could. In Diablo trash is a valuable resource, it's a source of drops. You have a legitimate reason to WANT to kill the trash, they don't have to make you do it. You skip it it's your loss :P

Not saying WoW's system is bad, it's just a different kind of game.

Skipping trash to kill bosses this way in Diablo has been done since forever, its "common practice". Also the guys have been running a very tight and active schedule to stay ahead, give them a little break for stuff like staying in fire, cause at the end of the day he did stay in the fire, but they also killed the boss and keep progressing.

Just enjoy the streams and root for your favorite player.

No they wont get banned for it, because technically they're doing nothing wrong.

However saying that it's a intended use is pretty dumb, that's basically saying Blizzard fully intended people to skip 95% of Inferno content if they were just going to kill bosses and avoid everything else (which is exactly why they made bosses NOT drop the best loot because they didn't want people skipping content like in D2).

Use some common sense atleast if you're going to call people out over semantics.

The whole idea of skipping huge portions of Inferno Mode till you reach Diablo defeats the entire purpose of having a harder difficulty setting. I'm not saying that they should clean every area bottom up, I'm saying that they should not skip parts like all the trash if they can truly claim to have mastered the game, since that is what beating Inferno Mode is supposed to be. It's just as well saying that the world first kill has already happened, since all the other difficulty setting has already been cleared. If they find a way to get past even a boss, will that be considered acceptable? Where exactly is the skill, here, since I am not seeing it.

They do not skip trash that can not be skipped. Their hunt for world first in Diablo 3, where most of the stuff you fight are "trash", will be pretty much like skipping most of the game. I mean, what's the point, here? To show who is the best at finding shortcuts? Or is this competition completely devoid of actually trying to prove that you are the best at the game? If this is how this contest is supposed to be done, then I really do not see the point. They can exploit as much as they want, but I will not consider the winner a proper hardcore if he/she decides to use tricks like this.

Not sure what's worse... the fact that there's people literally cheating/exploiting their way through games, and missing all the fun of playing it, just to get a "world first".

Just because you enjoy taking it slow, doesnt mean everyone has to. If they find it fun to compete with other people for world firsts, then who cares?

And running past trash is not cheating.

And just because the title doesnt show up in pixels, means its not real? Everyone will know who gets world first Diablo, it doesnt have to show up in game.

Skipping trash/champion packs is simply a tactic that the players are currently trying. There is no guarantee that they won't hit a gear wall and have to go back and clear mobs for hours/days in order to pass a gear check.
