"Why the hell did I spend money on Diablo 2??"

So, a guy on the US Bnet forums dug up a few comments from around the time Diablo 2 was released. Pretty hilarious to read what was said at the launch of what is now considered one of the best ARPGs ever.

Most of those bitchings are technical problems from a time when a vast majority of people were technologically retarded.

You are implying this has changed?

It has. It's actually gotten worse.
At least back then the majority of players understood that you couldn't use the same character for different regions. (Talking about closed b-net here).
Now the tech support forums are literally flooded with posts raging about how Blizzard deleted their characters.

The Diablo II launch was plagued by battle.net outage just as D3's launch night evidently was in the US. I also remember the weird balance issues and brilliant patch 1.03 that had helpful changes such as levels of bone spear increasing only the mana cost but nothing else. Lets hope quality triumphs once again.

Unbelievable, Blizzard has experience in big launches and they still manage to screw it up.

Enough experience to know that the problem itself is fleeting and that people generally get over it enough not to warrant splashing out on enough hardware to handle this peak traffic and then run at 10% of it's capacity for the rest of its life perhaps?
