    Computer build

    Hi!

I am gonna buy a new computer, and after asking a lot of questions, this is what I have in mind:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3820 3.60Ghz Box Socket 2011
    MoBo: Asrock X79 Extreme4
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 16GB 4x4GB CL9
    HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 64MB
    SSD: Crucial M4 128GB SSD SATA3
Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced
PS: Corsair GS700 700W Gaming Series
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 Superclocked 2GB GDDR5
    Heat Sink: NOCTUA NH-D14 SE2011
    DVD-RW LG standard

I have some questions, if someone can help me ^^:
    1. 700W PS is enough for this?
    2. Is the heat sink ok?
    3. And... which CPU is better? i7-3820 or i7-3770k? (I dont mind the price, only want to know)

    Thanks ^^

You are going to do what with this PC?

The socket 2011 has better memory bandwith as long as you use the 4 channel configuration. But the Ivy bridge chips have a more efficient memory controller.

If you are going to game, go socket 1155 and get a 3570k, if you are going to CAD, render video etc.. go with the socket 1155 i7-3770k. Performance differences between the 3770k and the 3820 are not enough to justify the price of the 2011 setup IMO.

    That power supply is sufficient.

    That cooler is fine.

    Thanks for the answer...

About the CPU, what I really wanted to know (without taking into account price or the use I could give it) is which of the 2 CPUs was better (for general purposes & gaming) ... 1155 3730k or 2011 3820?

The 3770K in my opinion. Not only can you overclock it, but it has the same performance for about half the price.

The 3820 is cheaper than the 3770k
