I don't really have a 'best (or favourite) movie ever'. I've watched far too many genres, styles and types of movies to have an outright favourite. In the past 12 months though, I'd probably say The Artist is the best movie I've seen, lately.

i love a lot of movies although i have to say, probably my favorite?
The Princess Bride. it has everything you could want in a movie imo.
it's funny, it's got fun fights, a decent story, it's genuinely touching, it's even wonderfully quotable!

I dont think I could choose my favourite of those 4.

    Blade Runner, Alien, Aliens.

There's just something about that old, dark and grimy science fiction. They don't make 'em like they used to. First Matrix had some of that atmosphere though.

    Sheesh, that's a hard one.
It's hard to think about movies and remember exactly how I felt when I first watched them, the one with the strongest and most memorable impact was probably Grave of the Fireflies but it's hard to say it's the best just because I remember it the most.

I should probably just stop babbling and go with Grave of the Fireflies. Yeah, let's do that.

Since I think the purpose of this thread is to broaden the horizons of those interested I will list the best movie that I don't think anyone will list. I honestly couldn't say which movie is my personal best, but this movie stands out as one of the best movies ever made, it is an extremely good watch.
