    Question Build Check Before Buying

Hello MMO Champ. Im hoping someone can confirm that this build will work smoothly with OCing, opinions would be great and ill be using this to game a number of games on high settings as well as hardcore statistical software. my main concern is if my PSU is enough to handle the rig. as i just created an account i cannot post links but here is the build

    CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
    Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case
    Power Supply: SeaSonic 620W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG GH22NS90B DVD/CD Writer
    Monitor: Acer S230HLAbii 23.0" Monitor
Keyboard: Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 Wired Gaming Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech G400 Wired Optical Mouse
    Total: $1269.96

im willing to go about to 1500 but would prefer to stay at my 1300 mark (im thinking of dual screening)
    thanks to everyone in advance!

P.S. there really should be a sticky thread made for first time build posts no?

Seem to be quite solid, the 7850 may struggle a bit with dual screening depending on what you play and at what resolution.

looking for 1080p the second screen would just be to multitask during game downtime or for work multitasking. work multitasking being cpu dependent and not gpu dependent.

are there any other graphics cards i should look at?

any other thoughts or should i buy?

Ohhh i was thinking about something like Eyefinity with the game having a huge horizontal resolution, if its just one screen for the game, one for browsing the web and all, the 7850 should be plenty : )

And about the power supply, yes the Seasonic is more than capable of powering that system, but you could opt for something a bit more powerfull if you ever want to add another 7850 for xfire per example.

If your willing to go up that much grab a 670 will be alot more futureproof than the 7850

The 670 is a tad more expensive, it would throw him above the 1300 mark he was going for that why I didnt suggest it, but if we are throwing it here, you could also consider the the 7870.

Do keep in mind, the GTX 670 is on the level of the 79XX from ati, and is a good graphic card, an awesome one at that, just giveing more optiong, th 7850 is roughly 150 dollars cheaper than the 670, the 7850 is around 50 dollars cheaper, but as they say, you get what you pay for and it stays true here.

stupid question:whats the difference between the 7850 and the 7870?

*other than the obvious +20!!! WOOOO

and i can go a little above 1300. 1400 tops but lets not get too greedy

-->sick: can you explain a little why the 670 over the 7850 or 7870?

Better quality case, better/quieter CPU heatsink.

saved you some money on the SSD (the Chronos is still quite good).

Changed motherboard and PSU as you're not going to SLI you wont need anything more than this.

GTX 670 will be much better in the long run and well worth the extra cost, the total isn't much higher than what you had.

Performance comparison: GTX 670 vs AMD 7850

You can definitely stick with the HAF912, I just thought I'd present you with a higher quality case making your build experience much better/smoother. Besides that it's just personal preference.
