Wink Mount & Blade: Warband. "Late for the party? "

I just recently heard of this game even though it was released about 2 years ago. The multiplayer looks pretty awesome from the videos I've seen of it and, I'm considering buying this game if people are still actively playing the multiplayer. The problem is I don't know anyone who has it so I'm out of the loop as to if people are still playing this game or not. So, any insight into the state of this game would be awesome if you guys could help me out here.

Mount & Blade Warband is a fantastic game, with many awesome mods. Now, I haven't played the vanilla MP in a while but I do play something called cRPG on occasion and there are 10 or so active servers for that mod . For SP I stick too Floris Mod Pack which is one big pack of almost every mod out there, all working nicely together thanks to the creators of this pack.

Warband is a fun game but the graphics were just a bit too dated for my tastes.
    Sir Robin, the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot.
Who had nearly fought the Dragon of Angnor.
Who had almost stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol.
And who had personally wet himself, at the Battle of Badon Hill.

Good game, but I got rather bored of it quickly.
