Thread: Monk DPS

    Monk DPS

    Hey!

I've been playing tank for a while now, actually since late Nightmare. Sure, it's all fun and that. You can take alot of hits and basically tank everything without problems.

But I just finished Act 1 Inferno soloing everything, challenging sure. Took a while tho, anyway. Lets get to the point of this thread.

I would like to know if a dps monk would be able to solo Inferno aswell? Because all I've heard is "Go tank mode, or else you will die".
Wanna try it out so if anyone got a build for it I would very much appreciate it.

Also, what stats to get? Resistance, dex, vitality? 2H or 1H?

    All suggestions are welcomed.

    Regards, Forbearance.

From everything I hear, a good 500 resistance, 30k health, and 20k dps or so. A shield is definitely recommended.

There was a link from earlier:

    I personally use a 1h and a shield, and stat for dex/vitality.
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.
So I chose the path of the Ebon Blade, and not a day passes where i've regretted it.

I think Monks want to focus on Dex more as it provides dodge, and you have a passive that provides 15% dodge for dual wielding monk weapons. However, monk 2H are very fast as well, so if you can survive without the 15% dodge, you may want to go that route. Personal pref I suppose, but the 15% dodge shoudl negate the the need for a shield with block. Not sure.

This is not to say ignore Vit, as that is def needed aws well, along with resist all.

Don't know, but there was a thread from earlier detailing builds and a few suggestions:

Yeah, I saw that one. Anyway I found a well working build. Question is, is it worth it using the Earth ally? Or switch that out for anything better?

I honestly don't know. I haven't played a monk. I was going by everything I've been reading . I'm starting my hardcore monk once my HC barbarian dies...if he ever does.
