HELP! Morrowind won't start because the main menu song can't be played

I launch the game, and everything loads fine, but when I get to where the Main Menu should've popped up, I get an error saying "Error with music: can't play morrowind theme." and it crashes! Really annoying, because I wanna go down nostalgia lane (or something)...

So, any suggestions?

Is your first idea really to ask MMO Champion?

Have you tried looking for the music file, seeing if there's anything wrong with it, google it, reinstall Morrowind? All good ideas.

Not really, I tried googling it, but didn't find any answer... Either I'm really bad with Google, or no one has encountered this problem before, but that's unlikely.
Nothing is wrong with the file, I've found it and played it in a normal Mp3-player, worked fine, and I've reinstalled the game 3 times at this point.. I have no clue what to do

Apparently, it's likely that the codecs installed on your machine are doing this.
