[Movies] Your biggest gripe with movies?

What's your biggest gripe with movies in general? I personally can't stand when a movie that takes place in an area/time when those people didn't speak English, but they speak English anyway in the movie. It just really takes the realism away for me. For example, I just saw the Pianist and although I thought it was an excellent movie, the fact that everyone in WW2 era Poland was speaking English was just a joke to me.

I know some people can't stand subtitles for some reason, but I would rather be watching a movie as if I was watching what was really happening then the other way around.

The sex scene.... i dunno why its there, it doesnt make the movie better... just let me keep watching my Actionmovie!
I usually fast forward through this scene....

And yes, english speaking people in old times / other countries is a joke... i loved the Passion of Christ, and Apocalypto for that reason.
Many swedish movies also have people speaking other languages in them... For example in "Arn, Tempelriddaren" they spoke Swedish, english, norwegian and arabic =)

I dont mind they are speaking english in a movie about ancient roman empire etc, because there are some languages i dont understand, witch then i need to have it texted, and that i hate, because you need to spend your time reading the text (instead of getting every detail on the movie).
But i understand that it would be "better" in a way. I just watched "Alexander" the other day and it did cross my mind that they are speeking english in greece, india and persia(iran) but i dont mind tbh.

But what i cannot stand! Is when its an english/american movie, and then they are going somewhere in europe (or whatever non english speaking country) then there is this horrible actor pretending to be from that country and speak their language. Even i sometimes dont understand what they are saying, yet they are pretending to speak my "mother language". Cant they atleast get an actor from that country for those "non english words">_<

The complete reliance on suspense and surprise in horror. The best horror movies were always psychological.

My other problem is unoriginality, we've seen pretty much all of this shit before, remake or not.

    Same Shit re-packaged.
"good guys" usually win, I want a movie to have the bad guys get away with it from time to time.
Audio levels, Music way too loud, Speech barley audible.

I hate having to read my movies, I prefer dialogue I can understand even when it doesn't line up with mouth movement.

I also hate movie remakes. You know, the ones where it is the exact same story line, title and everything but with new actors. How more unoriginal can you get?!

My biggest beef is how some American made movies all ways premiere in Europe 1+ weeks before they premiere here.

magic english speaking aliens. in almost every movie and tv show aliens always speak english, now dont get me wrong i dont care if they give us a reason whether thats reason makes sense or is great or crap or just pulled out of nowhere i dont care but i want a reason ie the tardis getting in your head and translating or the aliens being telepathic. however when we just arrive on a planet and the aliens are like "whaz up dude!" i just wanna smack someone i dont know why but i do.

^This pisses me off big time. Idk why they just dont hire actors from those countries, ie. in Hulk (2008 one) he ends up in Brazil but guess what: the factory owner and the 'brazillian' bullies can barelly speak any portuguese ! The only brazillian hired was the girl from the factory (Débora Nascimento) which only appears in two scenes...

I can't stand it when the music / sound effects are extremely loud and the talking is barely audible.

Forced romance stories or sub plots where they have no business being in.

My biggest gripe with movies is when the actors don't listen, I scream don't go throught that door!!! But what do they always do...

    ---------- Post added 2012-06-03 at 01:52 AM ----------

Or as others said when they have actors speaking a language they don't speak, I watched a film once were Nicholas cage was Spanish or something... Was terrible.
