So much no
It could actually work quite well as almost a hybrid mmo / strat sort of game.
I've actually got a coworker reading one of the books as an e-book at his desk right now. Him and a couple of others are completely addicted to the HBO show. Personally I just don't get the appeal. It read more like a soap opera to me than any sort of fantasy epic. I think I finished one of the books. The one with the wall and ice people.
Sir Robin, the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot.
Who had nearly fought the Dragon of Angnor.
Who had almost stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol.
And who had personally wet himself, at the Battle of Badon Hill.
No no no no no no! its a terrible idea
edit: but an rts maybe`???????????? (lol)
No.
Leave ASOIAF as it is: a set of great books complemented with a good tv series.

There already is one, and it's not very good.
Well, the calls that there are already versions of games of franchises people want to see is not the end of it all because I could make a "game" in a day that sucks and it wouldn't be an argument that it's the end of it.
