    Question about Holy Paladin!!

Hey guys. With my friends request I've returned to wow. I was playing warrior tank whole time and I'm pretty good at it . But the thing is they want me to be a paladin healer. I have a paladin which I've never played since 4.0 and I've never healed with him. What do you guys suggest? Should I level another paladin just to learn healing. Or should I try to learn healing with my 85 undergeared paladin?

Learn it with the 85 you have, no sense in leveling a new one. It's pretty easy to pick up, I am pretty sure there are some guides on here if you take a look around.

I'd suggest you read the guides also. Then run 5 mans as dps with your guild to get some holy gear. I'd also recommend healing in BGs. This is great practice with no real downside of wiping your raid group. But helps you learn to use your cooldowns, which separates the good holy pallies from the rest. It also is good practice dealing with the unexpected.

So yeah, just go with your lvl 85 pally - and good luck.

Take it from a guy with experience.. Never listen to your friends when it's talk about spending lots of time on stuff. Choose what you want to play, don't let them take advantage of you and force you into playing a class. I've had terrible experience where I was almost pushed into healing and tanking and never got to play DPS. I've quit WoW after what? 7 years and never played a DPS class in raiding..

Same goes for games, don't let your friends push you into playing games, have a independent opinion and if you don't want to, don't. I've wasted probably soon about 500 euros on that. I'm not trying to push you away from your friends, even though this was supposed to be a healing request guidance, I'm just telling you, keep a independent role. Don't pretend to be something you're not, same goes here.. You'll do worse and hate your class. I can promise you that for sure, if you still want holy guide and still want to do as they say let me know on PM and I'll tell you pretty much everything there's about holy paladin.

I learned how to react and use CDs by pvping as holy. Might sound silly but nothing trains your reaction time better then pvping, trying to keep others alive as well as yourself while being hunted by 4 or 5 players from the other team will help you improve in both pvp and pve aspects because as mentioned it helps hone your reaction time when shit hits the fan. Plus, it will help you memorize your key binds so you don't have to look at your bars/keyboard and you'll be able to concentrate on what's going on in front of you.

Whenever I come back from breaks I run random bgs to shake off any rust. When you are working on getting some holy gear do some bgs too.
Only the weak believe that what they do in battle is who they are as men.

Well said. I couldn't agree more. I also get a little crazy with working on my toon, proper cd usage etc. I set up worldoflogs and will run LFR multiple times. I'm 8/8 heroic 25 but will still work in LFR. Recognizing boss timers and making things routine will only let you focus on healing that much more. Having to waste time searching your screen for an ability timer or boss warning will take away from your healing. Your raid frames should be centralized in order have your toon in your peripherals. I'll try and link a screen shot later when I get to my comp. I know I'm a little scatter brained here, but I just wanted to 100% agree with theholypally and say to not underestimate the power of your UI.

Just as general healing advice, learn to play with good raid frames while you're learning the class. An add on like Grid or Vuhdo will do wonders for you if you learn to use it well. Most of them are very easy to set up as well, and if you have any issues there are guides made specifically for the add ons to help you set them up.
