[Suggestion] New Water Elemental

The way I see it is that you should be able to customize the appearance of your water elemental, and shamans should also be allowed to do the same thing with their elementals. How that should be put in the game does not have to be with glyphs. You could acquire an elemental's appearance using a spell similar to taming, except that it does not kill the elemental, it would be more of an attuning spell. With that, you can use the skin of any elemental of that type.

It could also be done using a stable system like hunters have, where you keep attuned elementals in your stable and you can have 5 elemental pets with you at a time. While they do not have any different abilities, they would look different and you could even give them names.

They could also add in holiday elementals, like a beer elemental for Brewfest, a flame dancer element for Mid-summer, and so on. These elementals could only be acquired during their holiday, but you can use them at any time.

Good GOD man, do you mean multi-colored Water Elementals?!! Pets actually associated with current lore such as Brew Elementals, and Environmentally tainted water. That might actually create an interest in Frost mages other than OP-pvp. One thing is that stables are for the living, but the naming idea is a nice touch.

While I'm glad you actually considered posting on this thread I am beginning to realize after reading most of these posts that mages have become complacent and satisfied with the mediocrity that has been given to them. You should make your own suggestion post for this bad ass idea. I will be the first in line to vote for it.

I posted a suggestion similar to this on the WoW forums a while back. I still think it would be cool to find spell tomes from raids that do this type of thing. I'd personally want it to work like Dalaran Brilliance though, so that you don't need a glyph and can choose to use whichever version of the spell you want.

The second one is a mercury elemental. But this should be a glyph.
