Mouse pointer disappears when typing in skype/wordpad/etc

As title says, my mouse pointer disappears when typing in skype/wordpad/windows (not in firefox and wow and other stuff), when i move the mouse it comes back again ofcourse, i just dont want it to disappear when typing.
The setting in windows config doesnt make a difference on or off. I am not the only person with this issue, some friends have it others dont (regardless of changing setting).

Anyone got a fix? Its annoying me.

windows 7?

start -> type mouse -> enter -> go to pointer options -> untick "hide pointer while typing"

Fixes it for some things, but not others.

EDIT: AH, as you said it doesn't change it for what you experience. In that case, as Synthaxx said, it's likely a developer choice. Gogo to the forums and ask for it to rely on the windows 7 setting!
