What sort of graphics card should I buy?

Hello, first time poster, long time viewer. made my account just now, so on with my question.
I have a friend making a gaming pc for me since I don't know much on how to build one myself.
I understand some of the parts well enough and looking for a graphics card that could fit my budget of around $100-110. Cheaper without loosing performance is even better.

I was looking around on amazon and I find one very cheap card from Galaxy, The Galaxy Geforce GTX 460 at $102. Is there a reason for such a low price on this particular card? I wouldn't want to buy it and find out that it is some green card or something similar to it.
I prefer the Nvidia line of cards, but AMD will be fine with me as well.
Currently have plans on playing Guild Wars 2 and would like to play it maxed out with a 60fps. Other games I am not as so concerned about, but would really like for them to run well also. Thanks for reading and for any help you may have!

Here are the following specs of the computer.
    1920 x 1080 screen resolution
    i5 3570k at 4.2GHz
    AsRock Z77 Extreme 4
    Seasonic 560W
    8GB G.Skill 1600

Oh I had another question to. Is it fine to buy graphics cards used or refurbished as long as the person selling has a high positive rating?

Its so low because its not that great for gaming and the new gen cards are out now. What is your budget?

$100-110. I'm not sure if I could push any higher then that. I have $30 held back for World of Warcraft game time and a $65 held back for when GW2 ever releases. I guess I could drop the 65 I have on GW2...

I'd recommend you save a bit more and buy a 6850, they'd be about $140-160 depending on where you look, maybe even cheaper. For $100 you wont get any card that would run games maxed out.

You have a great computer. Putting anything less than a GTX 570 in is a huge waste imo.

I would spend a little extra and get a GTX 550Ti like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130625

Oh nice, now this one has my interests! I guess I can shave some from what I have saved for GW2, and then add back onto it later.

I'm running a 460 right now (EVGA I think). Runs wow at 40-60fps on High. Runs D3 perfectly. What are you guys expecting? Have it make breakfast, too?

460 is a great card on a budget. 560ti is better bang for the buck, but that doesnt matter if you cant afford it.

Horrible advice, the 560 non ti is slower then the 460 and the 550ti is even slower then that.

460 is not a bad option at all, it is not a good option but if your stuck @ $100~ it is your best choice.

This is correct, the 460 was a monster when it was released a lot has changed since but it still breathes.

    A 460 would likely be better than a 550ti.

The 460, despite the other poster's reply, is a solid card. It's not a beast, but if you're going to struggle to get past the $100 budget mark it's not a bad card to get, but if you can stretch it up to $150 I'd say go with the 6850. Half of his advice was pretty good at least.

I also just noticed your powersupply, at only 560w I'd definitely recommend going with an ATi over Nvidia.

    I found this chart. images.hardwarecanucks.com/image//skymtl/GPU/GTX560-1GB/GTX560-1GB-64.jpg
The gtx560 se is the same price as the 550ti.
    Also found this benchmark. anandtech.com/bench/Product/543?vs=539
    Sort of confused.

is that a GTX 460 SE? if `yes` then its on par with the GTX 550Ti , if `no` then it spanks it - and its still a good (and faster than a 6850 if the 1 gig ) card
