I'm going to second Borderlands (2)
-Retribution, the path of the protector or mender brought to it's natural conclusion; destroying evil before the weak need to be shielded from it, and before it can wound the innocent.

Saints Row 3rd, Magicka, Torchlight 2 ... They are all pretty hilarious in Coop. Especially Saints Row and Magicka got me in laughing tears multiple times.

BL2 is supposed to be pretty awesome. However if she doesn't like shooters this probably ain't her cup of tea.

As for RPGs: Sadly there's not all that much around the market right now which is good AND offers Coop. I mean, you could still go after some of the older games...? Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea, depending on the performance of her laptop?

Torchlight 2, Guild Wars 2 (not really co-op for this but since you didn't say exactly what you want from your games...)

I could also suggest Saints Row the Third, but she has to not mind sexual jokes, that game is packed with it.

    You need a new GF.

On a more serious note: Definitely Magicka, Diablo 3, Torchlight 2, saint's row 3(not really a shooter, or Trine 2.

Borderlands 1/2, L4D 1/2, Torchlight 2, any of the random FPSs and pretty much any MMO you can stomach.

The DOTA style games are decent too, if you like that kind of thing.

She said she doesn't like shooters, but I'd still go ahead and see if you can get her to try Borderlands 2 like everyone is already mentioning.

There's even a DLC character in the works that's designed specifically for people who don't play shooters often that she might be interested in.

Definitely do NOT recommend this. DOTA/MOBA games have extremely volatile communities that tear new players to shreds, and hard-to-understand game mechanics that are derived from technicalities (Denial, etc.). Avoid at all costs.
